Martin lives in Manchester and has been DJing for over 6 years. His first encounter with a pair of turntables was at a student party in 2000, when he was asked by the organisers to buy a few drum and bass tunes on vinyl and have a go at playing them. From that day he has been hooked. His career has taken him from the underground party and festival scene to residencies and guest appearances at venues across the North West of England and beyond.
Martin’s musical tastes began with hard house, hard trance and drum and bass, and as he has progressed to his now trademark style of upbeat dirty and electro house, he has brought with him the turntable skills he learned during those early days. His style is characterised by fast-paced, crisp mixing and an intuitive ear for a great dancefloor tune, and the energy of his performance behind the decks has made him a crowd favourite at many of his regular events.
2007 was a great year, seeing victory in two DJ competitions, one with North Western bar/club chain Baa Bar (link) and another with Invasion/FutureDJs in Shrewsbury (link), where Martin is nw monthly resident. Other residencies include Rude (Kode, Oldham & Smooth, Bolton) and Rigamatu! (North, Manchester). In July 2008, Martin will return to the Secret Garden Party festival for the fourth successive year, where he runs the now infamous Club House soundsystem.
