A bit about Tolous

Tolous (Ryan Seed to his mum) developed an unhealthy love for happy hardcore and jungle in 1994 at the tender age of 11 and, much to the disappointment of his parents, acquired his first set of Gemini XLBD10 belt drive turntables that Christmas. Much of the first few years following saw him playing at youth clubs and private parties in Norwich until he was old enough (not legally mind you) to start playing at free parties and illegal raves. During this time he had a passion for techno, drawing inspiration from artists such as Alex Calver and Dave The Drummer, and played regularly alongside long term friend John Charles. Soon the two parted ways in genres, with Ryan focusing on the harder edge of dance music and John to house music.
Ryan’s first real break in Norwich came from a local night called Roobarb, run by Dave Austin and Pete, at The Mustard Lounge in the city centre. Ryan played a few gigs on and off for Roobarb while taking other bookings from other promoters in and around the area, until he rediscovered his love for Hardcore and found residency with Hardcore In The East. This night opened many doors for Ryan as he was able to work with some of the biggest names in the scene at the time, and it was around this time that word got back Pams House promoter (the biggest name in hard dance nights in Norwich) Danny Banthorpe, who quickly snapped Ryan up for another residency. About two years down the line, Ryan went back to his roots and joined Roobarb (then at the Waterfront) for another residency. Fast forward to today and Ryan stills resides for Pams House & Roobarb but has also joined Energy Rush, Norwich’s biggest hardcore promotion. He now owns a fully equipped studio where he is turning his talent to production and he also runs Pams House Radio, an ever growing online radio station which pulls in listeners from all over the world. All this plus bookings all over the country and the highlight of playing back to back with his childhood inspiration ,Sharkey, Tolous is a name that almost every raver in the East of England knows.
