Hi my name is Tom Messenger i run Twisted Up Promotions . Im going to explain as quick as i can what Twisted Up Promotions is all about .

when i was 14 i was a bit lost i just didnt feel right i started to socialise with new people and experiment with new things one day my close friend mark (mc sonar) gave me a blank tape with three tunes on that he had mixed on his decks i didnt think much of it but later on i was in a free house with this lady i was kind of seeing we were experimenting as young hippys do it was late and i was bored no tv just music i put this tape on and "bad ass" rumbles through my ears then "chopper" and that tune "i was in a long dark tunnel" (Valley of the shadows) my god i couldnt get enough of it since then i have loved drum and bass and i will till the day i die there is no music that even comes close its just so right i got some decks and started mixing and after a year or so became really close to Pinky Niall and john (Rutile) (Panza) (Long Jon)
and we all got heavilly into the drum and bass . Niall was 21 and had been djing for nearly ten years he was wicked on the decks he knew all about the scene but most important of all he was passionate about the drum and bass and he always stood up and voiced its integrity since then i have seen the respect that this music commanded and the passion that it is built on

Over the last few years drum and bass has been evolving in many directions and has changed alot and i realised that it was time to concentrate on what i liked and not what everyone else liked .

Early 2007 a pub where i live opened up and was run by some wicked polish people who didnt care about the councill or sound levels (luckily) and was open to anyone who wanted to bring in speakers and decks and run music nights my friend john got a date to do a night so we went all out and took a proper sound rig , lights and everything else we could muster along with our record boxes . It went well because the owner saw the effort we put in and of course the respect and passion we had for the music and gave us every other saturday i got really into it and was there every saturday hauling my bassbins decks lights and everything else we needed without fail and i saw that doing this was not everyones cup of tea ,me on the other hand couldnt think of anything better to do on a saturday than set up a drum and bass night where i could produce everything i wanted to see at a drum and bass night a month or two later the owner was paying me £50 quid plus free drinks every friday and saturday to run the bottom of the pub i was in full control what i said went i thought to myself man ive blagged this right up to be here. rivalrys started and people started to get pissed off with me for not letting them on the night but with help from my close friends and always trying to keep up the respect for the night i had in my head and follow my heart to what i thought was right it got to the point when every saturday the place would be rammed with people who came to night to have a good night with good vibes good crowd and listen to some drum and bass powered by respect and passion the pub got shut down i tried holding a few nights in other pubs that didnt go that well and was lost as of what to do now.i then realised its time to breach the comfort zones and do a serious night so i booked a club in hastings through a family friend Sir Ben Holder who ran his own house promotion with some friends called U.F.O who were legendary for there nights run on the same princibles that i had and were very respected i looked up to ben and saw what a promoter was capable of when they put in love and effort but most of all followed there hearts and not what they thought they should do and there i was a big night planned with all the right ideas but no knowledge whatso ever and i thought i cannot let everyone down and its up to me i cant expect someone else to do it this time so i went on a mission for 4 months and from going from nothing by the night of the event Twisted Up Promotions was born the night went better than i could of imagined and its gonna get better everytime . ITS ALL ABOUT THE RESPECT AND THE PASSION

That night i fell deeper in love with the drum and bass than i had ever been and my dream is get the respect that it once commanded BACK
