Here's our biog for your viewing pleasure:
Born on the outskirts of Brighton in 1982, Adam and Adrian Vaughan were the talk of the maternity ward after getting their heart monitors beat-matched whilst only being a few days old. The nurses could tell this was the start of something special.
The early years were tough, with the likes of Madonna and Bros dominating the charts, the music sources were limited. It was only the breakthrough of house music in the early nineties that the boys from the south were able to listen to something they could relate to.
The nineties bought the likes of the Chemical Brothers, Armand Van Helden and Brighton’s favourite son, Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim but the twins had to fight hard not to be brain washed by such pop catastrophes as Steps, Peter Andre and B*Witched.
It was the Summer of 2002 which bought one event that would change their lives forever. Big Beach Boutique II hit the sunny shores of Brighton and was labelled as THE event of the year. After seeing Fatboy Slim spinning such house classics as ‘It Just Won’t Do’ by Tim Deluxe, ‘Sexiest Man In Jamaica’ by Mint Royale and Camisra’s ‘Let Me Show You’ which made the boys find their true calling. With 250,000 people dancing like morons around them, they both knew that the life of a DJ was the life for them.
However, things took a turn for the worst when Adrian accepted the chance to study Business Marketing at Southampton Solent University (formally Southampton Institute) for 3 years. This had a dramatic effect on Adam and he was often found sobbing in his room, staring out of his bedroom window into the bleak, rainy nights. But Adam was determined not to let this get to him and half and hour later he was back on the decks perfecting the art he loved the most.
Things started to look up when Adam secured a slot djing regularly at Southampton Institute’s which meant his ugly brother was never far away. This was a residency which continued for two years and after Adrian’s graduation the pair were reunited and were now able to pick up where they left off 3 years previously.
Since then the gruesome two-some have played in numerous bars and clubs along the south coast, including Brighton’s Funky Buddha, and they have also rocked the sacred dance floor of Pacha in London.
Who knows what the pair have in store for the next few years, but if you’re ever in a club and you take a look up to the DJ booth and see two people who look strikingly similar, hopefully you’ve been lucky enough to stumble into the one club where the VaughanyDJ’s are blowing your fellow clubber’s minds and ear drums with vocally uplifting funky house, driving electro and thumping beats you know it’s time to let the music take control and to dance to the rhythm of life…..
Yes we know its a load of codshit but hey if you've read it hopefully it gave you a laugh.
