First of all we’d like to thank each and every DJ that sent in a CD for this competition.

The response to this comp blew all of our expectations completely out of the water !!

We received just over 100 Demo CDs from all over the UK and even abroad ! The standard of entrants was exceptionally high, and there was also a very wide range of styles.

It’s taken us a long time to listen to them all, and then re-listen to a selected group. Every CD we received was listened too, and marked upon various criteria and we’re happy to announce that we’ve finally made our decision. We hope you agree that the two DJs we have picked are both extremely technical, with an excellent grasp of track progression, and excellent taste in music !

We will aim to get these mixes available for download from www.addictionclubbing.com later this week and will post links here should you wish to download them for yourselves.

The two winning DJs we have selected will be playing at our February Thursday event's from 6pm til 7.30pm. One of these DJs will be selected as the overall winner and will be awarded with a set at our 1st major event of 2006. The organisation of this event is already well under way, with the venue and all Headlining Artist's already confirmed ! All we're going to tell you right now is that is scheduled for May and its going to be a very special party !

As mentioned the standard was extremely high and we’d still like to offer sets to many of the other DJs that contacted us. Some worthy of particular mention we're Kr00t0n, Johnny Lock, Econu, DJ Zone & Alex Buck. Firstly i would like to thank Addiction and commend you in running a DJ competion in such a proffesional manner as there are such like competions that dont always run the same way and it can be very damaging for young and up and coming new DJ's to send countless demo's never to hear anything again and at this time in their careers can have a very damaging effect on their confidence.

It is also very nice to read that you have mentioned other worthy names so that they actually realise that you have listened and this will encourage them further and keep their minds on their goals!

Secondly - Well done Phil! Im absolutely delighted with this news and a deserved winner!

You have worked hard to get to this point and i for one know how dedicated you are! You handle yourself in a very professional manner for somone of your age and your mixes are of an extremely good standard which improves each time.

I will be delighted and very proud to be there to support you on Feb 16th and im sure i will be able to bring along a few Team A members too!

They are both completely different styles and both winners on their own merits.

Out of everything we wanted these two mixes fitted the criteria the best ! but both for different reasons

Good luck to both DJs but what ever happens, they are BOTH winners, and we will support BOTH DJs and help boost their profiles as we have other DJs since we started.

Hats off to you guys! It makes a refreshing change when you come across people in this industry that speak the same language!
