Surely if they stole something, you would be left with nothing?

It's the same as copyright on music and video media though mate, it's classed as theft.

either that or the 450d

The 1000D looks like a great package at a reasonable price when you're starting out. 450D is also a good choice.

A flashgun is important for clubwork too, a Speedlite 430 EXII would be perfect to go with either of these. The 530 EXII is a little more expensive but has a bigger flash and a longer range, it's ideal for stage and crowd shots.

The thing is... if people have the decency to fucking ask... then 9/10 times I'll give them a shot or two for a credit... but logging on here for the sole purpose of taking photos to place on ya flyers without permission is a total piss take!

Glad I asked you a while ago for usage of your shots Nat - it's a matter of respect & principle. Permitted me without a problem too.. Thanks!

DSI should disable the 'right click save' feature.

I think right click is disabled! go try it...

In my defence the fliers and artwork are all done in house by the club, and I wasnt aware of any copyright issues breached or broken..

I promote EGf which is a very reputable event, and we would never try to rip any off, or con or steal. So the negative comments some people have made have upset me a little.

Obviously I would of rather that this could of been sorted with Natalie and the club rather than airing dirty laundry in public.

I apologise on behalf of the club that your images where used without consent. I hope you can sort things out with the designer.

Ps. Great Pics... thats why he probably used them :)

Has anyone made any money out of these pics though?

If it was me, i would be honoured if someone used my stuff (even though it would never happen because I'm not a photographer) if they have made money out of them then i'd say it's fair enough to make a big song n dance about it.

Probably. The point of the use of the photos is to create an advertisment designed to generate revenue. Therefore the copyright infringement is in line with "people who pirate movies to sell" rather than "people who pirate movies to watch themselves"

There's a big difference in how the courts view it.
