DID YOU KNOW?
All you people that are heading for Global Gathering this year. Do you know that you will not be allowed to take ANY drinks into the event. NO WATER, NO JUICE, NO ALCOHOL. Drinking quality water will be freely available from stand pipes. Other than that, you will be expected to buy it all in there at rip off prices. Also, there will be no crates of beer on sale like last year. Instead, it's £3.50 a can. I don't think this info is freely available, and because I am so disgusted with GG for this, I thought I ought to spread the word. All the best guys, and don't forget to tell your friends.

That's standard with any festival babes, Global have always operated this policy.

Mind you, I got two 24 crates in and 6 litres of vodka last yr! hehe

Thats riduculous, never heard of a festival doing that in my life, they usually stop glass, but crates and wines and sprits in plastic are usually fine. I've not been to global so i don't know if they've done this before and why they would, but no other festival operates this policy, defnitely none of the rock ones, Ive never had a problem like that.,

Dance festivals have totally lost it this year it seems, in many ways.

Last year.

why they would

Money.

It also guarantees no-ones sneaking in bottles of water that have, for example, got a whole load of MDMA dissolved in it.

Been to Global a few times now and they always have had this policy, infact all dance festivals I have ever been to have. They will also take BBQ's of you so watch them as well... Any other festival like T in the Park and Reading have been OK, but dance festivals are buggers for it. All trying to make a fast buck really... (one of the main reasons I won't go back)

You can get them in, it just involves clever packing. Last year we had a wheel barrow with all our stuff in it at the bottom, and it was all strapped in with chairs, marquees on top etc... would have been a nightmare for them to take it all out with 30,000 people behind us so they gave it a poke and let us on in.

Also, stick closely to the wall on the way it - it's also handy cause the dogs aren't on that side of the queue either.

Also I really do swear by the wheelbarrow regardless of items that will be taken off you because walking 2 miles with a backpack etc... and queuing for 6 hours like we did last year is hard enough work.

This year would be my 5th Global gathering, but they've never stopped you taking soft drinks in before. They're taking the piss this year. I've taken booze in every year so far. It's the luck of the draw whether you get nabbed.
