About Matt Darey
Matt has been one of the pioneers of today’s dance scene being a major influence on today’s world class DJ’s. Throughout his 16 year career of producing & writing house, trance, breaks and progressive and much more he has sold well over 2 million albums & singles with numerous top 10 & top 20 chart hits. Matt took a 3 year break from music in 2000 to travel the globe and then returned to start his own label “Darey Products” and embark on new projects. Since 2004 Matt has been touring the globe as a DJ and is now rated number 59 in the Top 100 DJ Poll. As a true international DJ Matt now offers a unique insight into today’s music across several genres being the first to play the majority of new releases on his international Nocturnal Radio show. Nocturnal is now officially the worlds fastest expanding Dance Radio show now broadcast on 115 Radio Stations worldwide since its official launch in April 2006.

As a true international DJ Matt’s sound has evolved over the last 4 years to include electro, trance, progressive, rocktronica and other styles making his sets some of the most interesting and dynamic in club land.

In 2007 Matt Darey has toured his Nocturnal sound across the globe including USA, Canada, Australia, China, Singapore, Brazil, Mexico, all over East & Western Europe and more. Matt saw 2 NYE events in San Francisco USA and Chinese New year in Hong Kong.

As well as hosting Nocturnal parties round the globe Matt has headlined at festivals such as the massive “Sunrise” & “Independence” parties in Poland playing to over 50,000 people, Vspishka Festival in St Petersburg Russia playing both Arenas to over 30,000, Azulands Brazil to over 15,000.

In 2008 Matt will continue to tour the globe with over 25 countries already pending in the diary including USA, Central America, Brazil, Argentina, Russia, Europe: Russia , Poland, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Romainia, Sweeden, Finland, UK, Ireland, Greece, Lebanon, Malta, Australia & New Zealand, Singapore, KL, China, Korea, Taiwan and more.

Nocturnal Radio
One of the driving forces behind Matt Darey this year has been his Nocturnal show which has become one of the biggest syndicated specialist dance show in the world now on 115 FM stations each week broadcast across 36 countries every weekend including USA, Mexico, Canada, India, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, Africa, Venezuela, Argentina, Spain, Russia, Poland, Italy, France and many more. Also launched the monthly Nocturnal Podcast, which has been hugely successful with over 100,000 subscribers since its launch in May 07. Compilation Albums
The groundbreaking debut Nocturnal album sees Matt taking a new direction with a mixture of his new rocktronica sound developing via edgy tracks through to serious electro influenced trance. Already championed as compilation of the month by MixMag. The debut Nocturnal album is released in 25 countries worldwide. In the last few months the album has been released in Middle East, Holland, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, Philippines. Soon to be released in Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand.

“Urban Astronauts” are the pioneering new ‘Rocktronica’ sensation from London and brainchild of dance producer Matt Darey. Already making waves in the Alternative Rock & Dance circles of North America as the latest signing to USA’s biggest Indie label Koch Records. The debut Urban Astronauts EP is to be released on 31st March featuring 3 tracks , “No Submission”, “Animal” and “This Way” with an album to follow in the Summer of 2008. As well as crossing over to Daytime Radio in some countries there is big Support from the widest spectrum of pioneering club DJ’s across all genres including Paul Oakenfold, Ferry Corsten, Marko V, Robbie Rivera, Sander Van Doorn and many more as well as gaining significant support from the worlds biggest radio stations like BBC Radio 1 and championed by DJ mag as the fresh new sound of Matt Darey. 5/5 in DJ mag.

“This Way” fuses lush 80’s style guitar riffs and electronic sounds with the vocal talent of singer “Bonse”. Both co writing the lyrics and Matt writing and producing the music on this timeless track. Features the talents of guitarist Richard Smith on guitar and bass. Lying exclusively in the hands of Oakenfold for the last few months and due for promo only weeks before its official release.

“No Submission” has been buzzing around for a few of years now since Matt first discovered his new Rocktronica sound. Matt teams up with house DJ Tall Paul and indie rock band Alabamma 3. Guitars by Richard Smith and Don Jackson. At the time it was just too different for the world of dance music, but 3 years on there has been a serge of new tracks in a similar vein and so its time to release this baby. A unique blend of indie rock and house now with 2 brand new mixes from Matt (RokTek and Funked Up).

“Animal” is a grungy rocktronica track taking influence from Matt’s love of the grunge and goth scene of the 80’s & 90’s. Written and produced by Matt and remixed by some of the dance industries coolest names. Featuring stunning vocals of Lucia and guitars from Richard Smith.
