as it's so misunderstood that nobody actually knows what it sounds like. Lets call it "the new wave electro" for those of you who think it's some new hip sound with a house beat.

Real electro has been around since 1982 (some people think earlier) and it's a synthetic style of hip hop originally from New York. The difference between hip hop and electro were mainly that electro beats are made with a drum machine, the Roland TR-808 was the favorite. Songs are also about space, the future and robots and if it's not a rapper it's someone talking in a monotone voice or a vocoder has been used. Synth basslines are influenced by funk.

Having said all that how did the new wave electro change so much within a few years? I was listening to Nu-electro in 2004 and it was fantastic! Electro is a beat, it's a feeling and now it's been misunderstood by just about everyone who likes this new wave electro! Electro house is not electro! the only things they share in common is they are both forms of EDM.

Now this brings me to something relevant to minimal techno and Delete. Electro house makes it so much harder for me to buy records because the labels of this shit and the shops are now starting to call this shit "minimal" because minimal is the cool and trendy style of dance music today.

I'm sorry i'm going to finish this on a childish not (this is DSI after all) but electro house is shit! and your all stupid for thinking it's electro! Listen to some proper music which has it's own name! You call trance shit but it take a lot more talent to make than this bollocks! Electro house is the lowest of all dance music! Not only in cheese, production but also the amount of idiots who make it and listen to it.
