Back in 2005 Diskokitten opened it doors to queues of people not quite knowing what to expect. Advertising itself as an unpretentious fun house night, many were used to nights being to cool for their own good, crowds all more interested in looking good than having a good night. Diskokitten wanted, and has achieved its goal of putting fun back into clubbing, a feeling that was lost all to long ago it seams. With a soundtrack of house anthems from yesteryear, cheeky bootlegs of anything dance-floor friendly, mixed up with disco, hip-hop and Motown, there something for most to enjoy, and if not enjoy, at least watch others as they do.
With a series of themed monthly parties, Diskokitten’s reputation has grown, with people from far and wide making the journey to see how any club can seriously play Dolly Parton, The Beastie Boys, Whitesnake, Franz Ferdinand, Mylo, Armand Van Helden and Candi Stanton in the same night. Fusing all these different sounds has made people come back for more, the residents know what people want, and that is anthems.People don’t want to be educated, they want to be entertained!
The theory behind Diskokitten is more than cheap and cheerful, its about going back to basics and putting on parties that people are going to remember and talk about for the rest of the week. At Diskokitten we endevour to make our night value for money, with our membership scheme guaranteeing that you get all this entertainment for £5 at our regular events.
Diskokitten aims to be the night that everyone forgets about looking cool and wearing the latest fashions. They want to be infamous for being the night where is all goes wrong and feels so right. Its about the unpredicatble music, the costumes and letting it all hang out for one night a month.
