Elation was founded at the start of 2000 by Mark (HB), Paul (Ponder) and Ryan (Sonic), initially as there were very few promoters supporting Hardcore at that time (3 infact!). Our aim was simply to put on a great party, encompassing as many aspects of the scene as possible - including big names who were still supporting the sound, and the wealth of exciting up and coming talent.
Shortly after our 1st birthday, Ryan decided to leave Elation to concentrate on other things, allowing us to incorporate Tom U4EA into the promotion circle, bringing new ideas to the table.
Although our first events were held at the Chunnel Club in Vauxhall (now Studio 33), its The Electrowerkz in Islington which became our first proper home. Its there that Elation really started to establish itself as one of the most innovative events on the circuit, adopting a policy to cater for the wide variety of music offered by the Hardcore dance scene, while also trying to actively promote some of the lesser known, but massively talented artists. Infact, the now famous CLSM Live PA made its London debut at Elation, and top international artists such as Carbon Based and The Panacea have made their UK debuts for us.
However, having spent the last 3 years at Electrowerkz, and attempting everything we could think of - from Christmas PA's to having a U.V. car on the dancefloor, to Jedi mind tricks live on stage - we feel its time to move on, and start a new chapter in the Elation legacy.
From there, we went on to hold the first ever Hardcore events at the no widely utilised Jacks in London Bridge, including a memorable collaborative event with the All-4-1 collective. However, off the back of that, we decided it was time for a break, HB left the fold after 5 years, and Tony (DJ Wizbit) has been brought on board as the all new 3rd promoter.
We made our triumphant return at The Factory in London on Saturday 29th May 2008, giving us a taste of how the London Hardcore scene had evolved and moved on, and took alot from it, allowing us to develop Elation further, and taylor it towards the raver's needs, with the aim of once again becoming a leading force in the nation's capital.
Sadly though, Tom U4EA could no longer dedicate enough time to the promotion of the event - balancing the hectic schedule against his career as a geography teacher. So Elation raver since the very beginning, and long-time friend Caine has become the latest addition to our evolving team.

Labels
In addition to the events, the Elation Recordings label ran alongside from 2001 to 2005, releasing 7 vinyl singles (including the massive 'Ultimate High') and a mixed album in that period. With vinyl becoming increasingly difficult to justify releasing, digital releases have taken over, with the first 2 being made available earlier in 2007, and a further 7 being released May 2008 with a hectic schedule planned for the year ahead.
Wizbit's Lucky Breaks label has also been quite the success, with the massive 'New Zealand Story' featuring on Bonkers 13, along with the CLSM remix of the same track appearing on Bonkers 15.
All information on our labels, along with direct purchasing options for digital releases can be found at our new site -
elationmusic.co.uk (site goes live June 08).
Studio Hire
On top of all that, the Elation Studio is also churning out a regular selection of varied and exciting music, with the likes of Wizbit, Uplift, Rizladizla, Trickz, Lukozade, Bustin and many more having their ideas turned into reality. Not to mention the homegrown efforts of Ponder & HB.
