The 4 Page MIni Review!- SORRY!!!;)
______London Shaken Down-______

It is getting to a point where all the nights that I am attending are pretty much flawless- so at the risk of sounding like all my other reviews recently- this will be no exception. Please bare with me as I am typing this at work and I’m still in recovery mode lol.

This is only a mini review, - (yeah right!..) to say what a top- shining night Epidemik totally was!!!!

I was double booked for Hardcore Addiction down the road at Club Life. Sadly- and it was one of my hardest decisions to make, so far I had to cancel my set there as it was exactly the time as my time at Epidemik in the Hardcore zone- fate eh?

Any how on entering the club to establish my set time there, I was greeted by what turned out to be really friendly security.

I then went straight into the main Old Skool zone- what a sight! - A nice long stage with lasers in check, setting the style nicely! Pretty Green Eye’s & J.C were already there, with Vinyl Vera’s sister and friend. J.C took me to the Hardcore zone and we established that the mic would connect into the mixer there! I then secured my bag at the Epidemik stall had a chatty with Acid Sid and ventured over to Club Life.

Coming back was a sticky moment as I had to get processed again by security and the main guy there didn’t recognise me - wa wa! Big up Grant for speedily getting me in!!! ;)

Still getting things set and checked for the night ahead – a sound engineer boosted uop two cordless mic’s and I thought- what the heck- Epidemik- back in London- I LOVE my Old Skool, so jumped on stage…
Cutter was soon there too, and J.C & Vinyl Vera got the sounds rollin through! Cutter- we all know him, TOP flight bro!!! He disappeared at the start but his voice still coming through the system- what a range on the cordless!!! The set soon stepped up pace as did the people in the arena. They were smashing out the old skool style with some pure classics and also some older hardcore sounds too. I really got into this as I have been into Old Skool since the off back in 94- top stuff!

I looked up and the place was pretty ramo…Cutter took one of J.C’s tracks from the top and let rip a rhyme with fine style. I pretty much took off near the end, and then it wasn’t long before the number one- MC Strict took over for his time on the microphone.
NICE 1 BRUUVVVVA!

I jumped down to take a breather, and have a chat with Lyrical Groover who had been in for most of the session, also respect to Spike, Rob & Haley J who were there for the last part of the set. Charlie Old Skool - it was awesome to see and chat with you agaion!- When ya next out!?
I also have to mention that this was a total privilege & honour to start the night off with Cutter- for Epidemik’s return to the Capital. Big respect to the crew that showed me likewise respect for the set again deep respects to you all!

I ventured into the hardcore zone and Sgt Spud was on the decks, booming out the haaaaaardcore! I missed Al Rave Machines set, but we had a good ol chat and he told me that it went really well- nice 1- pow!

It was so nice to see so many familiar faces; the raving two Larry & Sian helped me out and sat me down in the House arena- as Mad Al smashed out some smooth bass line beats- I had a bit to much top drink by this point (making up for lost time whilst on the mic) ;) Bigging up Epidemik’s MC Toe Stepper for buying the first one!

After the much needed chill out and funky house session I went to back into the hardcore it was rocking the socks off it! MC Mozie put in an appearance for one of the sets- upfront hardcore at its best! Judgemental also rocked the show with yo yo!

At 11.00 ish the London hardcore team stepped uop representing the capitals hardcore- in the form of History Of hardcore- Insane & Mind!!!
NEVER dissapointing- they played an upfront set that even the babysitter would get her toast on for! Hosted by lyrical legacy’s Spenno & Chit Chat- a top act on the microphone sound, 'Digital Lover' was played and went off like a page 3 girl in Aldershot Army barracks- also a firm fave of mine, yet again another next level set from the H.O.H crew and like wise to Spennster and Chit Chat- *please don’t forget the 24th of April down at Jaxx!!!!

About 9 months away from the London scene, a set that I had been looking forward to since I found out he was playing- RIZLA DIZLA on the mixer!!!!

He didn’t disappoint- playing all the new releases available from I.M.O Down Load NOW! ;) I died In Essex, & Electro Bubble BiG TUUNE!!- one of my faves!!! The mighty Lyrical Groover MC introduced the set and what can we say!!?- This was PARTY CORE AT IT’S BESTEST!!!!! Judgemental & Sid P took the mic up & top stuff maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan.

A little bit after this I ventured back into the House room to quench my thirst and boy did I time it right!!!- Mikey B was in full DREAM TEAM EFFECT- ‘I bring You Flowers’ had just been dropped at it was TOP’S!!!- I’m a huge fan of the U.K Garage and Speed garage sound and this was cursing! I had a chat with Mike Blue Boi from Nu Dawn and bopped back to the hardcore. Meeting up just after with my Hardcore Hit Squad, Mr Sparkle and Aki (without the camera)kindly bought me a drink, and who was on in the Old Skool-
As we enjoyed the drink the Rachel Wallace P.A was in full flight - yet again it was first rate, with bounds of energy, and the lasers were looking wicked!!!!

Then-
SKIBADEE took over laying it down pound for pound on his first set- I last saw him at since One Nation United Sates of Drum & Bass, down at Stevenage Arts and Leisure about 2003ish…He took the bulk of the night at this event, working back to back with the crew: Stevey Hyper D (rip) Fearless, Foxy, Five O & Fatman D- again he is another artist that never fails to falter. The crowed were so hyped it was unreal!! This was First class for the Epidemik crew.

Taking time out in between the hardcore and the old skool- it was almost impossible to choose where to funkin go!!!- I soon heard from Toe Steppa that Rat Pack was on so again I made my way into the main arena. Everson and Marky were once again on top form as well as Stephanie Smart- last up with their live P.A- really it is hard to put into words; it was just another reflection of the sheer class of this whole event. Both artists bounced off each other and delivered another first rate set for the main arena massive.
I moved over the left side of the stage with my Ballistic Beats crew and also to say a first hello to Dion from D.N.A Dancers. After shaking his hand about ten times, the prestigious MC 3Flow took the mic and introduced Billy Daniel Bunter & >D.J Twister- I wasn’t going ANYWHERE!
A H U G E fan of the Rave Breaks sound, this was just what the rave doctor ordered!
The night just got better- the Can You Feel It team let rip with which sounded like brand new Breaks, next level from Billy & Twister. Not only did this set deliver it was accompanied by some of the BEST synchronised dancing that I have ever seen…

D.N.A
led by Candy Floss (interview still available to view!) was working along side Suger Dee Dancers and Twisted Bliss too and was off the chain! Happy Feet & Johny Funk with Dion & Buzzcat. Candy Floss & Arna J smashed the hell out of it, and it was plain to see that they as well as the crowed loved every second of it- WoW- factor to the max!!!!!!!!!

3Flow did the business once again coming up with a wicked flow at the end of the set, I honestly can’t say about the ‘BEST’ set of the night it is strictly impossible, but this would be a true contender…
As I left he passed over to Five Alive- it was a hard choice to leave this arena…

Back into the hardcore and London’s finest Vibes & Livelee were in full swing! OI OI’s echoing all over, Livelee was on top form as was Vibesy on the mixer!!!
Top notch track selection from the Vibes - he is one of the rare few at the top who plays other peoples tracks, he let fly Ballistic Beats: Heaven - which is also available at I.M.O Download! ;) This went down it’s usual way- hands in the air from EVERY ONE, with the sing along crew not far behind a rapturous response from the Epi hardcore masshooove!
He also played tunes from members of the my crew, The Hardcore Hit Squad- Dave Pinnacles new one as well as MC Seany Tee’s track too- GO ON VIBESY!!!!!- OI OI!!!!

This roughly took us all up to 3.00am when the LEGEND that always has us going BONKERS- Druid took to the hot plates and blew up a nice old hardcore set- smoothly starting off with Heart Of Gold, always a warmer for the hardcore heart.
Druid played his heart (of gold out) until about 4.00am

What better way to follow up Druid’s set than: Raw Element’s in the shape of Sc@r & Uplift. Hosted by the lyrically tactful Lyrical Groover MC!- As said before the guy step’s it up- to a BETTER performance EACH & EVERY Time a show, this was NO exception!!!!!- Sc@R & Uplift let it fly with a superb track selection and top flight drops on some of the mixing. I looked round in the middle of a conversation with Spikey nut nut, and L.G was calling me to the mic! - I took over about half way through whilst Lyrical went for a fag break, and I REALLY ENJOYED IT!!!!!!
The mic maister soon returned and took it up a gear yet again, until the end of the set.

Lyrical stayed on for the last set- The guy just seems to get better and that is improving on when I first met him back in 2006- he always smashes it each & - every - time!!! Which was the legend like Dave Skywalker- he launched into an upfront set- but before we could shout rewind- they shut us off earlier than planed!?!- Dave saw us out with a 95 hardcore track- Rushing on Pink Champaign- house lights on we all made our way to the cloak room via the Old Skool arena, and what a way to finish the night!?- Skibba & Fun were smacking it out, after giving Skibbs respect it was straight out into the pending daylight and all we could say was WoW!-

A huge big up has to go to Lady Wid Style for sorting my bag out also at the end of the night, that bouncer was starting to grind his teeth at me… ;)

*Apologies if allot of this was wrong- it was a long night and I was kindly bought allot of free beers,
*More photo's to be added- I'm whacked

I’ve typed far too much now, (all those beers at the weekend);)
Nothing much left to say except BiG SHOUT TO GRANT- EPIDEMIK- AND ALL The crew who made this night possible - one of many I’m sure back in LONDON!

Good night & god bless, I’m going to take a little while out in the on line activities so see you all verry soon- see you any one whose going at Summit, this coming Saturday, then again on the 24th at H.O.H- Also The Fridge on The 25th April, in Brixton then like wise in London for Ballistic Beats on the 1st of May and back on the 3rd of May for my birthday party night at AWSUM in Hidden & B2T! !!!!!

Keep the Vibe alive- stay London, Capital Shaking;)

Just H U G E SHOUT TO EACH & EVERY ONE OF YOU !!!!- TOP VIBES!- Party On!!!!

~BLESS!~

I am impressed with your review. I got confused about who was playing where and when, and i managed to miss the bunter and twister set, which I was gutted about, but I loved the whole night none the less and as usual had a superb time at Epidemik!!

Thanks to everyone who makes it possible! Ill b at the next one without a doubt!!

Many thanks DHD for taking the the time out to write this....its nice to see how other people view the parties.

As I have said many times before whilst trying to encourage new people to come to an Epidemik....unless you have experienced one, then you will never know. I dont just say their good for nothing.....whats the point in that? Would make me look like a complete liar and idiot. They truly are very special events indeed and I am very proud and honoured to play my part in them.

Why are they special?

Well my honest opinion is this......Grant the man behind these events does them purely for the love factor.....not the money. You may all think he earns a fortune out of these events....am telling you now...he doesnt! He has a full-time job 6days a week, doesnt sit on his arse all day or on the phone being a bossy promoter.....he leads a very normal life....just to pay the bills. He's not in it for the money and because of this it shows through in his events.

Then of course there's you the ravers that keep coming back to Epidemik's and for every new raver that came to the last one...they bring a few more new ravers to the next one thus helping the Epidemik family grow into something more special.

There's a wicked interview here on DSI that you all should read, its from quite a while ago but def worth 5mins of your time

Grant Epidemik: A look at the man behind the music

And if your on FaceBook please do join our groups on there

Epidemik Facebook Group

Epidemik Facebook Page

Once again...thanks to all of you that have attended and supported Epidemik's in the past....big, big thanks to all the crew behind the scene's (the ones that do all the hardwork, you all know who are).

See you at the next one!
