We are going to seriously kit out Media with extra sound system, more lights and projects as well as draping upstairs with some added Neon lighting for extra effect. Will have two room's with upstairs playing Electro, Tech & Progressive house and downstairs Room 2 bringing you soulful and rare house grooves.

Rico Tubbs has been the beats pioneer in Finland since 1994. Co-founder of the first Finnish breakbeat label Pyssy and half of the chart topping hip hop/beats producer duo Skillsters.

Skillsters is responsible for producing the first ever Finnish hip hop album (2000) and was also hired to produce and be a part of the live act of Finland's biggest dance music export Bomfunk Mc's on their 3rd album. Many Finnish hip hop acts have also hired Rico's avant-garde scratching skills and his fierce DJ sets have been heard from Tampere (Where his eclectic breakbeat club "Beatformers" is running its 9th year!) to New Delhi.

Mr Tubbs has clearly been filling his head with that 'Baltimore Electro' sound and the evidence is here for all to hear and wiggle their arse to! The stripped back crunk beats with all their claps and eighties electronic drum sophistication and so many samples and stabs pilfered from decades of vinyl show that the breadth of influence is wide. Every rave stab, old school hip hop sample and voluminous bending, bouncing, bassline has been meticulously crafted into a lo-fi, hi-fi, future old school, booty-rave-ghetto-electro-funk monster that, on evidence so far, is going to be moving dance floors for some time. In a refreshingly unpretentious way.

Some of Rico's bigger gigs this year include the Good Vibrations festival tour and the Annie Mac world tour so as you can imagine we're very pleased to have him gracing the Overdose decks!!
