CHRIS LP REWIEW FROM FUNKINISM MEETS LOVE-TEC 21/10/05
Seeing as this was our last love-tec to be held at Meet for 2006 we at love-tec decided to have a more personal touch in our approach.
The DJ list for the night was to comprise of the original line up including Ste & Terser from Cookie Dough one of Angel Ss' connections from back in the day and our joint promotion angle with the Funkinism crew.
In the coming last week to Oct. 21st we had an influx of interest with the guest list growing at a phenomenal rate, it seemed everybody wanted a piece of the last love-tec experience at Meet for 2006 and who could blame them with the success we have achieved in our first year on the circuit.
We had our work cut out for us still with the likes of Kinky Milinki and Fabric baying for your hard earned money!
For allot of people it was also your first experience and the love-tec regulars did an amazing job making sure all those unfirmiliar faces were welcomed as much as possible, true to the love-tec ethos we have proudly established.
Sadly Ste & Terser had to drop out due to travelling problems but pooling our resources we managed to obtain a DJ worthy of thier reputation at short notice, we could'nt in time give him the recognition he deserved on the flyers but as most of you will remember the DJ-Davey-C was up there on the DJ set time list to all of your suprise!
Suprise you all he did (we new he had game), DJ-Davey-C did an amazing job of opening up the main room from 9-11pm, playing some wicked, nice and precise funky house.
The numbers he brought he scored himself some peak time perfomance going on again from 4-5am after the brilliant Femi B.
I had met Franky at the door after some trouble parking up and got Dave settled in, introducing him to Jonny Mac and Ali Bee opening up the Bar.
With some trouble on the underground the first two hours were slower than usual but with good insight we managed to inform all those on our g-list via text and call to get them here in earnest speed!
By 11pm Scott Mochan rocked up with his entourage and stepped in to take the main room over and that he did.
Frankie soon became rushed off his feet on the door, the information was well recieved as everyone rocked up at the same time poor Frankie but did an amazing job non the less.
Pete was liasing with everyone as usual getting photos of crowds coming in and Kelski soon had her hands full obtaining your much needed credentials for future promotions, so much so I was asked to give her a hand.
What can I say she is a star when it comes to this as she beat me hands down.
My own entourage soon appeared with Chris Biscuit and my beautiful sister Lisa (longlegs).
They were here well in advance to recieve Chris' Birthday boy crowd who had exclussive access to the lounge bar.
By this time to my suprise the Bar was increasingly packing out and the main room filling up with Scott banging out tunes.
Beatz by this time was stepping up the class with some extraordinary percussion.
Trace, Claire & Danny Dove from SP turned up with smiles on thier faces, which for us was another great seal of approval.
I believe also Steve Smart was about from Kiss100 whom you should remember from a previous love-tec night!!
Sol (Angel S) was on the phone to me eagerly asking for reports on our progress.
What can I say we were just getting busy and by midnight it was love-tec ram-tec once again.
Pete (Conti) collared me and reminded me we were up ourselves in half an hour.
I nipped out quick to grab a bight to eat and met more of our crowds queing for money, looking around the market area was packed with people moving about!
With all our crowd in force and Conti doing exceptionally well with numbers we gathered our regulars for our main room performance!
Including on sexy bunny! "MWAH big shout to the Olabunny! X"
Scott played his last tune and Conti decided to test the crowd on some funky electro personally produced via family.
The first tune went out the same as the last "bang, bang, bang!" for two hours myself Chris LP and Conti switched from vinal to CD hitting the crowd right everytime!
We had hands in the air, people chanting away and Andy SB with "paparazzi style" flash photography doccumenting the whole thing.
It could'nt of gone any better that night, we wanted you to release yourselves and feel great as in turn you were making us feel it too!
Just before the hand over to Angel S I was asked to say something about the night, you the love-tec regulars and our most important event to date.
I think most heard seeing as we had no Mic, but generally, just to say thank you so much for supporting us!!!
"YOU GUYS MAKE IT WHAT IT IS!"
By 2am the boss man Angel S rocked up telling us Frankie was still out there and the crowds were flocking in.
The crowds coming in initially for Fabric queing up must of heard the percussion and wicked tunes from both rooms "the party atmosphere was electric!"
By doing what love-tec do we must of changed peoples plans becuase by 4am Meet was at full capacity "one in, one out!"
After me and Conti came off for Angels set we decided it was party time and that we did mingeling and dancing with all the crowds
Angel S "everytime" precision mixing if DJ'n was a scholar persute Angel S would be an engineer!
He played driving house with some cheeky disco classics.
The crowd was hyped and loving it.
By 4am Femi B was just coming off and Oh my God the man can rock "awesome set" and the bar crowd were right on top of him in the intimate setting!
Davey-C stepped up again "a little nervous" but held control with true professional style. complimenting the already well recieved set from Femi B
The Funkinism crew did an amazing job and Beatz was wicked!!!!
The place packed the crowds loving it and with "one in, one out!" we could'nt of done any better
DJ-Vamp on the dance floor big yourself up bro!
On a night were our overheads were not as usually high were in for a good break too!
The whole night I myself was busy recieving and thanking people for coming to love-tec.
Frankie bless him came of the door and got himself a well deserved drink still ever busy thoe catching up with people handing out the lollies and promoting PACHA 26.12.06 with flyers and passes at the ready! THE GUY IS A SOLDIER!
The after party crowd turned up and the last of the regulars made thier appearence the night was sealed with invitation to host the bar. Chris LP and Conti stepped into the verge again "well and trully in the party mood!" and played for another 3 hours with the hardcore crowd "including the wicked party animal Muzz Khan and his lovely girlfriend!"
THANK-YOU to EVERYONE..... the list is so long so I wont mention a list of names but you all know who you are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Family, friends, love-tec regulars, new faces and Meet managemnt!
