Here is a review of the mix!!!

A long time in the running (11 months in fact since we last downloaded a House FUndamental...), finally the new demo from Chris Cee is available and not a minute too soon!

There comes a time when every clubber needs a new sound to set the mood before a wild night out; this is not to say that Chris' previous mixes will be forgotten. The fundamental Cd’s can always be relied on to get us dancing and exited before making it out the door, appearing in the most played section of many I Pod’s.

Personally as an avid listener of Chris’ mixes and a regular at his FUndamental and Fusic events I jumped at the chance to be one of the first to hear his latest mix.
This newest sound showcases a fresh and exhilarating approach which several of us lucky few have witnessed and danced our socks off to at his most recent events.

Throughout the course of the House FUndamental series and his career Chris’ sound has progressed and diversified making him unique in comparison to other talent out there. He is never afraid to try a new sound when the mood takes him, whilst at the same time he understands our need for a cheeky classic or remix to be dropped in at that opportune moment. My favourite example of this is his use of the Audiobulllies remix of Prodigy’s “You’re no good for me”, which has become part of his signature sound. Those of us lucky enough to have seen Chris at either Turnmills and Heaven or most recently at the Electronic Sessions Boat party have seen first hand the tumultuous affect this track has had on the crowd, anyone who was not already dancing made a break for the dance floor where they did no move for the rest of his set.

We find ourselves at House Fundamentals 10 the last in this impressive series.

Some might agree that this is the end of an era but Chris himself has assured me that his newest demo series will be released in autumn. I know that I am not alone in saying that this feels like a long time away, thankfully I have this new Demo to keep me going.

The Demo itself:

Where do I start?

Intelligent, sexy and unexpected.

As always I found it difficult to sit calmly and listen to volume 10.

I would describe Chris’ sound as intoxicating; it is impossible to listen to him on a low volume. Once again he pushed the boat out (literally for those of us there the other week ;-) ) starting with a funky vibe quickly transcending into electro house (my favourite). After raising the sound once again by a few bpm’s it became virtually impossible for me to stay in my chair. The final three tracks (in which he drops in an unbeatable classic) finalised my resolve that I would be out on the town tonight. I have refrained from naming any of the tracks in volume 10, better to save the surprise…

Mr Cee certainly has a nose for finding those tasty tracks, which seem to fit together so perfectly, you find yourself asking the question “how could it be any other way”?

Those of us who have been foolish enough to ask where he finds his tracks in the past know that he is a man who keeps his secret source close to his chest.

I must warn those of you wishing for a quiet night in, this is not the demo for you.

If on the other hand like me you plan on clubbing 24/7 over the weekend and need something to get pick you up this is your tonic.

I’d like to say well done to Chris, I am sure that you will all join me in my congratulations soon. Keep up the good work, I look forward to the new series.
