QUICK INTERVIEW WITH ROB TISSERA BEFORE HARD SOUTH TOMORROW - MIX LINK NOW ADDED!!
A very quick question and answer session with Rob before tomorrow's event :-

What has been your favourite moment of 2009 so far?

Tidy Magna in Sheffield in March. It was truly amazing. 4,000 of my closest friends having it to the max in what to used to be a steel works. Awesome. I also really enjoyed the Atomik Weekender. I can really relax and have fun at those types of events. I love it.

What are your Ibiza plans for the rest of the season?

On the hard dance front, I'm doing gigs for Atomik at a new club in San Antonio called Boho which should be good fun. I will also be playing some hard sets at Judgement Sundays at Eden including the Radio 1 Weekend which should be great. I'll also be doing house sets for Kissdafunk every other Sunday at Judgement Sundays... And nearly every Tuesday I'll be playing Boomerang in Mallorca. It's going to be a busy couple of months.

You’re one of the few DJs out there that has mastered two genres (house & hard house), what do you think was the secret to your success?

I've just been lucky enough to have been accepted by both crowds. I feel very honoured, as I know how snobby some people can be in the industry. I started out as a house DJ back in the illegal raves era of '89 so it's pretty easy from me to slip into playing that style too. I give an equal amount of attention to both as I enjoy playing both styles. Playing hard house released an energy that you can't get from house. Whereas house music can be very sexy and well produced.

You always put so much energy into your sets, are you surprised at how much you still love DJing?

I just love to make people happy. I'm blessed to be able to do this job and I never ever forget it.

Are you looking forward to our Beach Wear party this Friday?

Very much so, and it seems like you've picked a perfect weekend weather wise for people to dress up. I love themed parties as the crowd seem to be more up for it. I'm looking forward to catching up with Andy Farley too.

What is your pet hate when DJ’ing?

Being too far away from the crowd at festivals. I like to be down at crowd level rather than being up in the sky or at the back of a long stage.

Tell us one interesting fact about yourself…

I used to be a semi-professional footballer in the early 90s. I was also a Wiltshire AAA metres record holder in athletics.

Thanks Rob - see you on Friday!!

Look out for a link to an excellent classics mix that Rob supplied us with very soon - I'm just uploading to my server and I'll stick the link on here asap. Rob told me he originally did it for Slinky, and he's really proud of it. Having listened to it, so he should be! :-)

Here's the download link for Rob's classic Slinky Mix as promised!

Right click on it and "save as" - I don't think my server will cope with loads of streaming!
