DAVE JOY has become a household name in the hard trance scene, and in his time DJing has accomplished a huge, ever growing list of many achievements which should ensure his longetivity as a DJ for many years to come, as well as this, his achievements have contributed a great deal to the hard trance world over the past decade.
Dave's main project is his own company JOYRIDE MUSIC, which since its launch in February 2006 has amassed four main labels (JOYRIDE RECORDINGS, THRUST GROOVE RECORDS, DOOF DOOF TRAXX and JOYRIDE MUSIC DIGITAL). His strong ear and dedication towards the music he plays has led him consult deals for other labels, with DJ Madwave's PHOENIX RECORDINGS, Blitzfaktor's BLITZFAKTOR RECORDS, Flarup's FUTURECLUB RECORDS and Michael Splint's GOOD STUFF RECORDS all collaborating alongside him.
Joyride Music itself has signed many productions worldwide and Dave has built up strong relationships with both producers and DJs from various countries, with material on the labels being sourced from Australia, United Kingdom, Japan, Spain, Germany and names in the hard trance community like Sean Tyas, Substate, Chris & Matt Kidd, Karybde & Scylla, Synthetic, Nick The Kid, Chuck-E, Louk, Marcos, Nish, Ralph Novell and Dizmaster all releasing and/or remixing for the Joyride imprint.
2001 marked the start of Dave Joy's career in the dance industry with his debut track FIRST IMPRESSION released on Planet Traxx Records. The S.H.O.K.K. Remix of this title quickly became one of the most played tracks in 2002 with inclusions on more than 50 cd compilations by i.e. Cosmic Gate and Eddie Halliwell and is considered to be a classic if not a legendary tune every trance lover should know of. The follow up singles Second Chase, Third Pleasure and Fourth Joyride which were produced with his musical partner and engineer David Prodygee aka David May (owner of MoonmanProductions/Panevinovillage) finally branded his name in the international dance scene. Further collaboratios with other fellow producers were released under varias aliases such as Basic Dawn, Schattenmann, Emphasysts, 4Fach Zoom and Simplex D.S.N. and were championed by the world's leading DJs gaining massive radio plays worldwide.
The multitude of his own productions gave Dave the opportunity to remix some massive, well respected names in the scene with Jam X + De Leon aka DuMonde, Alphazone, Nish, DJ Spoke, DJ Dean, Dave 202 and DJ Shog's Mindhunters. The remix of 'Flashback' by Alphazone which was released on Waterworld Records and later signed to Nukleuz Green in the UK is the most recognized Dave Joy remix so far and became a massive club anthem in Australia and the UK. It was also re-released as a blue transparent vinyl on Joyride Music Limited end of 2006.
As a DJ, Dave has travelled extensively playing some of the World's leading venues and events including the prestigious Defqon One (Holland), Nature One (Germany), Streetparade & Oxa (Zurich, Switzerland), Launch, 3D, PHD and Tuned (Melbourne, Australia), Rise (Perth, Australia), Tunnel Club (Hamburg, Germany) and gigs in the UK such as at The Fridge (London), Dance Academy (Plymouth), Bionic (Cardiff), Atmosphere (Seaton) and seeing the new year in 2006 in China. Three massive compilations followed when Dave was asked to mix volumes 24-26 of the 'Hard-Trance X-Plosion' series (which was formerly mixed by Mellow-D/EDM Records). In 2007 he further co-mixed the CDs 'Peaktime' together with Sydney based DJ and producer Yoshi and 'Synergy' together with his Swiss friend and label partner DJ Madwave.
Dave's professionalism is one which is world reknowned. As a DJ he is a technically good mixer and does not let all his massive accomplishments affect his mentality. He has a strong love for Australia and is supporting local djs and producers with all his heart and effort. One thing he also can not be faulted for is his huge dedication towards up and coming artists, proving that he as a DJ never forgot his roots and both his DJing and his Production are well worth checking out.
