I am someone who has been on dsi for a number of years but rarely chats. Sometimes I read posts and check for events. I have seen shit loads of posts where 'newbies' have said something just to be shot down by a hardcore few. It always seems the same people replying and posting to every message. I dont think it's a particularly friendly site to be honest - maybe the trick is to encourage new people to post and get involved.......

DSI has very much lost the edge it once had, the drive has gone & been replaced by liberal complacancy...aswell as the general switch from one social site to another....

The sites inbox is a minefield, mine has never been emptied in 2 years, it'll take a day or so, and there are numerous little tweaks that could be done, to make the site better & faster.

I can get other sites on my phone - but not dsi...that to me is an issue.

Ive been asking for spotter cards for 6 months, either my postman smokes weed like a trooper or the mail so heavy he cant carry it here....

I dont think that any music is essentially dead on dsi, i think dsi in its current format is dated, and maybe dying itself....

We still put the logo on our flyers and webposts, but few see it, or take notice of it. Its facebook everytime now.

Think you'll find it's YOUR lack of humour - if you relaxed a little bit and realised that people are usually only joking around, then you'll find DSI a lot more entertaining.

They can request for an isp to disable there internet connnection though, thus meaning no internet for the said abuser (untill they sign up to another isp), but this i have only known to have happened once on dsi.

Thats nothing new though, theres always been fakes, making complete fools of themselves, since i have been joined to this site (which is since the end of 2005) lol

I,m fairly new to this site so cannot comment on the "glory days" of DSI.
Primarily I use this site for finding events and booking them as its easy and convenient.
I also like the spotting idea meaning I can take photo's, post them and hopefully people will see themselves and enjoy...
Facebook on the other hand is a tool I use for people I know, keeping in touch and posting more personal pictures and comments...

i think a seperate chat for Uk and US would be soooo much better, like i only go on there to see who else is going the the raves im going too.. whats the point if there all american.:S

Im finding DSI isnt really the best place these days, especially up here in scotland and the north east of England. DSI is good for the fact you can see who is going to events that is on. Its a good central source on that basis, however im finding people are tagging alot of my photos on Facebook these days, aswell as getting loads of invitations to events. I like to add my photos here in hope of reaching 1000 people spotted, which is becoming very hard when people dont need to sign up to here to see there pictures etc. They can just take it off the website or tag themselves. I cant imagine DSI making much money for selling Canvas's. mousemats and tshirts either. Also the main chat is dominated these days by Americans. Every time I log on here there is a few american people dominating the chat box. People in Edinburgh arent fussed about here. This is just a source for finding last nights pictures first for there bebos. Newcastle is pretty much facebook, and Dundee proberly hasnt even heard of DSI. Leeds is a facebook site as more people spot themselfs in my facebook albums than on here. I spotted loads of people in manchester aswell and about 3 people spotted themselfs. Im not really sure how this Mixmag deal is going to work greatly if people stop using this site. Its good for getting events like I said, and a few good photos, But I cant see mixmag paying for our photos unless there desperate haha.
