Moni, (Viking Princess), Aksdal
Moni, sometimes referred to as The Viking Princess, as she was born in Norway, moved to the UK in 2002/2003 to enjoy and develop her newly discovered talent as a DJ. Soon after, she built herself a name in the House scene of London. Over the 3 last years she has rocked the floors on most of the clubs in London, with her tribal techy, funky chunky and dirty house tunes. Her promotion SOLIDKISS has its very own sound. This groovy bird is all about bass lines that hit you funny places.
Besides from driving her fans mad at The Gallery in Turnmills supporting stars like Sister Bliss, Hybrid, John “Quiver” Graham, Schumfrog, Robbie Rivera, Smith & Selway, Adam Beyer, Judge Jules, Lisa Lashes, Amber D, Anne Savage, Mauro Picotto and Fergie. She has palyed with Antiworld for almost 3 years, Egg, Mass, Fridge, SEone, Scala, Turnmills, Brixton Academy, Heaven, Canvas, George Four, Studio 33, Alexandra Palace, Factory, Ministry of Sound, Stratford Rex and The Telegraph, which are just a few of the places she has made people move their hips and groove to her wicked selections of tunes.
She is also well known in the tech house/ techno scene in Greece and she has been invited to play in Prague and Australia.
With well selected DJ’s every time, she has done her nights all over the country but it’s now a regular for The Gallery, Turnmills after the success on the 12th of August and the unforgettable party in T2 the 30th Dec 2005 and 2006.
SOLIDKISS promotion is now hand in hand with the PULSE and www.cubelive.com.
For the last 3 years Moni has appeared more often on boat parties, than any other female DJ in the UK. Vikings like being surrounded by water so it must be a genetic thing. Moni is frequently invited to play two sets along side Eddie Richards and Alek, under the Antiworld Indoor Festival arrangement, and it seams they like her style as much as the crowd does.

21.01.08 – MONI IS A "FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH" IN DJMAG'S MAJOR IMPACT 2008 ARTICLE!
Moni has been selected alongside other djs such as Booka Shade, Laurent Garnier and Moby as one of the Dj's to look out for in 2008. Keep an eye out in the shops! as the article is set to be published in January's edition of DJ Mag. But thanks to Tara from Djmag we have been given permission to offer a PDF document of the article to download!

BLUEBEAT is a collaboration between Moni Aksdal, brother - Tom E. Gundersen (ASKELADDEN) and Hemlock (CUBE LIVE). Moni introduces Tom as the main brain behind the productions. Where Tom likes to refer to his sister as "The Sound Doctor" as nothing gets past her unless its pure quality!

BLUEBEAT SIGNS SURVIVAL REMIX TO FUNKLIFE RECORD LABEL!
In August 2007, Moni was approached by Funklife recordings with the opportunity to remix a funky house track called Survival. Moni, being the temptress of all that is FUNK, said YES! And Bluebeat went straight to work to produce their very own remix.
Many coffees and a few pot noodles later, a new remix was born! Then in October, Bluebeat was contacted by Funklife with news that their remix of survival had been accepted and was to be released on their label in 2007!
The remix of Survival has been heard around london at venues like Heaven, The Fridge and Telegraph. Showing a very positive reaction by clubbers on the dance floors. Giving the bluebeat team a good sign they have the right formula to get those bodies grooving! Moni says, "I'm really excited about the release! I love playing it out. Seeing everyone going at it! and enjoying themselves."
