Solitaire Return With Another Massive One!
Former Slip N Slide Records A&R man Lewis Dene, has had a few big tunes in the past several years. Solitaire's debut single, 'I Like Love (I Love Love)'; was a huge international hit that spent 15-weeks in top 40 of the Australian sales chart and in 2003 ended up as the third biggest UK club record the year in both the DJ magazine and Music Week club charts. (It also spent more weeks on the latter than any other). Chart topping reworkings of 'You Got The Love' and 'Thinking Of You' followed; both also became top 40 pop hits in Australia. Collaborating throughout the years with Dave Taylor (Solid Groove, Switch), Lewis crossed the Atlantic to work with Houston-based producer Albert Castillo (himself no stranger to crossover success working under the guises of Mynt and Al B. Rich). Together the last 18 months have seen them carve a niche reworking R&B hits into dancefloor anthems with huge acclaim for the likes of Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Diddy, Danity Kane, Musiq Soulchild, Kelly Rowland as well as #1 remixes in the UK with Audio Fraud's version of 'Ride Like The Wind' topped the club charts, the USA Billboard Dance #1 mix of Rihanna's 'Don't Stop The Music'. Their Solitaire remix of Musiq Soulchild's 'Teach Me' was also the most played record on the Music Choice Dance Channel for 6 weeks running. David Shaw - Far Fetched Thoughts - Hmmmm?
So here it is. Born in 1973, David was brought up on Leo Sayer and ABBA (he blames that on his parents), but soon he progressed to music of his own choice Depeche Mode, Malcolm McLaren & Kraftwerk. His clubbing days started out with DJs like Healey, Humphries, and Whitehead and progressed to Tenaglia, BT, Digweed & Seaman to name but a few. Darkdrum started in 2001 when David was DJing in places such as Turnmills in London and the Sanctuary in B'Ham and several Stately Homes Party Nights (u know the ones). 2002-2006: He was as he is now involved in producing all forms and styles of house & club music. David's productions under all guise's has received great support from the likes of Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Markus Schulz, Flash Brothers, Andy Moor, Gareth Emery, Blank & Jones, Villo, Andy Hughes, DJ DRC, Oscar P, Joachim J and more. 2006: He later joined forces on a sideline project with Miss Moneypenny's DJ "Attison" to form "Far Fetched Thoughts" to explore his electro side. DEC 2007 - Always looking to work with the hottest labels new tracks "Afro Disko" & "Mr Madu" were shopped to Oscar P. The two have been friendly for years exchanging tracks, and spreading the industry gossip and what not. "Thats all I had to hear really says", Oscar P...."was 4 bars of "Afro Disko"....I had to have it, and it will be a signature track of the conference for us in 2008." Ok Ok...Flash to 2008: David is still busy with the debut solo release "Arabian Nights" supported by Flash Brothers, Markus Schulz, Andy Moor, Matt Darey and many more, to be released by Armada Music / Coldharbour in the summer.

Sirkhan - Sunrise Music and The Master Plan
SIRKHAN real name 27 year old Serkan Duran was born in Germany and hails from Halver near Dortmund. He entered the house scene learning under the tutelege of ATB (Andre Tanneberger). At times going under the name DJ KAAN he's appeared at such noted venues in Germany Ludwiq, Club Rakkas, Club JFM, Club Prestij, Club Karizma, The Netherlands Sahmeran / Rotterdam, Austria Club Escape and Turkey Club Oxyd where he has mastered his kraft and DJ skills. His first release on Open Bar Music is a big-club anthem remake of the Salt n' Pepa classic "Push It". No worries though. No rapping on this one, just pure big room heaven. This month sees the release of The Sunrise Album on Open Bar Music, which showcases some of his tech-house, progressive house cuts from the Sunrise label. "All part of the master plan" says Sirkhan, "Quality tracks is how you get noticed these days, so we need to put out the hottest tracks we can put out there".

Open Bar Signs Robosonic To Digital Distribution Deal
The young independent DJ-Team and producer duo ROBOSONIC is made up of Sacha Robotti living in Berlin and Cord Henning Labuhn ("Schall") meanwhile living in Argentina's capital Buenos Aires. So far they have been tearing apart clubs, illegal raves, parades and festivals all over the world, playing an innovative wild mix of electronic music they refer to as "Dance Entertainment for Junkies and Joggers". Oscar P feat Ama "You Are My House"
London based vocalist Ama Zedrey gives us a taste of balearic music. "You Are My House". "You Are My House" The first single from Oscar P's upcoming 2008 album features remixes from Angel Manuel, Pete Moss, Jordan Rivera, T&A, Sirkhan, Ospina & Oscar P, Javi Lopez , Adriano Dodici, Arnaud D & Frederic Grand, DJ PremiumOne, Sean Henderson. The single will be released in two parts. One batch of remixes for the house heads, and the other for the minimal-electro house set DJs. Expect a massive campaign as the singles set up the album which drops FEB 2008.
Ama Zedrey AKA 'La Zoylita' has been deeply involved in music since a very young age. She was born and bred in Mallorca, Balearic Islands. We caught up with her during a recent show in London.
Tell us about your new upcoming release(s)? We've been having fun. Aside from working with producers like Oscar P and Davidson Ospina, I've also worked this year with Arnaud Daleo,
and House Legends 'Nicky Holloway and Danny Rampling'.
How do you classify your style? I like to identify my style as a 'Balearic Style', reason why; I am open minded and work with only emotions, therefore I like all kinds of styles of house music, my sound is created once I apply my vocal to the track, each track has a completely different feel to the other.... for that reason I like to call it Balearic sounds, meaning I like to mix all sorts of styles together depending on the feeling the music gives at the time of writing the track.
What's coming up in 2008? I am going to be releasing a compilation of all my songs in 2008. Stay tuned for that!

Sound Check: I have been in the music business for about 10 years. I started DJing at clubs in Chicago back in 1997, playing at the Play House! and Gensing, promoting parties. I had my first record released in 2004, and it was very well received. Since then I have had a release out on Goya Music, and an upcoming 6 track EP on Open Bar Music under the name Kirill featuring Sin Palabras. The project has been described as a fusion of House and World, and features live Afro-Cuban percussion with Yoruba vocals.
I also host a monthly party @ Blue in Miami Beach called Simply House. Upcoming guests include Darren Holland (Baldeelox, UK) and of course, Oscar P from Open Bar Music.

Soundcheck: I am 34 years old, and I have been break dancing since I was 7. I started Djing around 10 years old. My dad taught me. He was a head bouncer at the Paradise Garage club and was friends with Larry Levan. My first single was in 1996 on Cutting Records. So 12 years producing, and 24 years DJing.

Of all of the anthems and classic to bare the Larry Levan moniker, his quintessential sound and perfectionism was epitomized by one record in particular, this groundbreaking offering from 1982. The New York Citi Peech Boys were an electro-disco collective that comprised Michael de Benedictus (a synthesizer player who often jammed alongside Levan in the DJ booth at The Garage), vocalist Bernard Fowler and guitarist Robert Kasper.
25 years on DJ Dove helms the project and fellow New Yorkers Davidson Ospina and Oscar P who add a soulful undercarriage to Fowler's timeless cries to rewrite history. So what made DJ Dove tackle this classic? "It’s one of my favorite records of all time," says Dove. "I grabbed the vocals, made the track, and took it to West End". "They liked it, we made a deal, but then the company decided not to be active anymore and release new music instead just dealing with its back catalog. So I talked to the boys at Open Bar Music who delivered great remixes". Open Bar is one of the hottest new labels out there right now and they were granted a license from West End....We have a fantastic remix package feat Javi Lopez, Sirkhan, Angel Manuel, Stereo Mutants, Jordan Rivera. and of course Davidson and Oscar... Thank God or else this would have been a white label instead of an actual release that deserves attention". Nuff Said.
