Qudos is back! And I'd like to know your thoughts....
Hello Qudos group!

Well I've got some good news, and a date to put in your diary - Qudos is going to be returning to Mango's in Reading on Friday 12th June!

I'm just putting things together at the moment, obviously it's still a few months off but I would like to know who your 5 favourite uplifting/melodic trance dj's are who you'd like to see at Mango? This can be a combo of established or upcoming artists...

Please send me an email to info@qudosevents.com or via this site!

Looking forward to hearing from you with your thoughts!

Regards

Tina Martin

Personally i don't think Reading people understand trance.
But that's just my opinion...

Good news Tina!! I have no clue about the DJ's etc so cannot offer helpful opinion. I do know that I loved your night when I attended it..I remember saying whilst shaking my toosh, that you'd turned me to the dark side and I loved it!

LOL..Chris, I would have to agree with you!

Thanks Karen! hehe yea I do remember you shaking that touche hehe! ;) Well the music is going to be very strictly progressed with forms of energetic house/electro/techno, onto uplifting/melodic trance which will start later around 2am.. same format as the Slinky night..

Since when has going out and having a good time at a nightclub ever been about understanding the music ?!?!? Can't quite work that out if I'm honest.

Maybe to the select few i.e. the Promoters, the DJ and the enthusiasts (I still believe we are the minority by the way) but to the average club go'er all they want to do is dance their pants off and have a good time.

I hardly think that Sakura is packed every weekend because it's full of music officianados (Christ I should know.................Oh the pain) but at the end of the day it's about full dancefloors.

I think there is enough people interested in Trance in the area to make the night a success for a couple of reasons.

Firstly there was always plenty of call for it on the radio station I had my show on, which to be honest suprised me as I always had the majority of the radioland listeners down as Drum and Bass heads and secondly, as mentioned before, Slinky was a very good night so I don't think it's in anyway a gamble by Mango because I think it'll do the club some good.

I'll certainly be supporting it providing I'm around of course and I'll be pointing all the people who've asked me about trance nights either on the radio or off the air in the general direction of Mangooooooooooooooooooooo.

Thanks Benski! Yep on our 2nd event we got 450 people through the door, and only 50 people left! Defo a market for Trance in Reading still to this day - as I was re-affirmed by Slinky @ Mango.... :)

I was actually pleasantly suprised by how well Trance went down when I played at Mango for Slinky the other week.
I was a bit worried about changing the direction too fast after Sonny came off and thats why I didn't change it too quickly but the tougher & more Trancier I took it, people were getting into it again.

Obviously I don't know anything about the scene in Reading but from my experience, Trance works.

I have to say that I disagree with you. Trance definitely has a following in Reading, whilst I might not like it and you might not like it, it definitely has a following.

I say good for you Tina, and wish you all the best. Put something outside for my ears and I might even be there :-)

Nice one Tina, after Qudos and Mode being dropped by Mango last year, it is nice to see Qudos back with a trance night and Lunar doing their tech house stuff.
