Come on Frantic whats going on....
Unfortunately, a lot of people thought that HHA was a bit of a shambles....

The line up was lacking, why not Farley in the main room???? why not Rob Tissera for the main event, he would have rocked it, he wiped the floor at the after party.

The clue is in the event name Hard House acadamy....... why so much hard style, stop trying to be fashionable and stick to what people want.

Frantic is losing its loyalty, from what it used to be, good name djs playing good quality music, no gimmicks.

Come on Guys ............... before its too late ........

Gotta love the Hardstyle v Hard House vs Hard Trance debate, guarranteed to provide many different opinions!

This is Now... and right now the music of choice is Harder styled.
For music from the past there are Classic event, or Old Skool events but to steal a phrase from an old Helter Skelter flyer "Forwards Ever.. Backwards Never!!" and Frantic HHA has always been about leading edge artists and music.

For 5 or 6 years, the people that love their hardstyle have been to events waiting all night to listen to 1 or 2 hours of the music they love, and quite often in the smaller room.
For me personally it was a breath of fresh air to hear the music I love in the main room of such a large venue in the UK.

hardstyle and london do not fit in the friendly chapter at all. there was such a moody atmosphere in the place.
Weird, I didn't see a single bad attitude all night. Even less so than many other nights I've been too.

(cant beat the hard house and midlands crew)

Strange you should say that, the last Hard House night I went to in the midlands, most of the people there were either fucked up on GBH or made a distinct effort to bump into me as much as possible to try and provoke a reaction.

However like yourself, i was probably just unlucky. I don't blame the music or the location.

To broaden that though, that's generally the case for all Hard Dance spectrum events, it's not a Hardstyle exclusive in any sense. My point was simply that any event which has the capacity for 4500 people, in a much more commercial, and widely advertised venue, such as the Academy, is likely to attract it's share of twats, whatever the genre.

The emotions elicited by music are personal, and subjective, prior to my newly found (and reluctant) liking for hardstyle, my soft spot was hands in the air, euphoric trance, and still is in the privacy of my car :P Doesn't mean I've turned into a stroppy bitch over night (no funny comments, or else) It's a genre of music that yes, is very expressive, but the misperception that it's an expression of anger is frankly bollocks

And that was supposed to slot in nicely under Golly's comment above - but inconveniently I had to do some work in the middle - damnit!!

and if you wanna come see some Hardstyle for yourself in an attitude friendly zone...

Saturday 14th November @ SEOne - Octane Vs Squelcher

Warning... HardStyle DJ's playing Hard Styled Music!!
I guess it is all down to personal opinion; im kinda the same i do prefer my euphoric hands in the air stuff for sure, mi passion lies with bounce and trance (preferably hard trance!)

It is just my personal opinion that it sometimes feels angry... i think that it is too far from what i usually like - being able to float away with the music - this is why i love glow ball so so much, they seem to have the PERFECT mix of music there, kinda feels like it progresses as the night goes on - i dont think personally there should be hardstyle before midnight - for me ya want somethin more euphoric for the first half to warm you up for something a lot harder, and maybe if it had been done in that way i wuda enjoyed the hardstyle more! i jus feel like from 11 it suddenly got incredibly tough

I dont think there isnt a space for hardstyle, it is a genre thats becoming more & more popular and of course it should get the airtime that hard house & hard trance etc. get. . . i just kinda feel that on sat night it took over ever so slighty! when even whitby is edging towards hardstyle...

although that said, in my personaly opinion andy whitby is a complete twat and im sure as golly said he is just jumping on the bandwagon lol!

We have European Hard Trance at Octane ;-) Which will progress you into the Hardstyle!

At Octane's opening night we started off with Italian Hardstyle which is alot bouncier and "happier" which then progressed into Dutch Hardstyle and then some Dutch Hardcore (Gabba) which in my opinion worked very well :)

have to say i went to a party in sheffield...and found the people there really ignorant, rude and horrible!! im SURE its not everyone up north, but i found a really nasty atmosphere and found myself wanting to leave early; obviously a slight prob when ya really far from home . . . an that was a hard house event thru an thru . . .

That I agree with completely - my only real criticism of Saturday was that the set times didn't seem to flow that well - I think if there had been more of a progression through the night and yes, probably later, the hardstyle would've scared certain people less.......

As for
just jumping on the bandwagon

I'll keep my personal opinions to myself on most of it :P but stick to what you're known for, rather than pissing with something that a lot of other people have been dedicated to for a long time :P

And a big up to Mr Reynolds, was intrigued to see how he'd hold up in the middle of that lineup, particularly when seeing the set times, and despite obviously running off for some D4rkstyley :P half way through, thoroughly enjoyed a bit of arm waving :-D

And I think you hit the nail on the head there...

Progression...
Starting any night off at 175bpm Dutch Gabba is not gonna work!!

I think Sensation Black do this very well.
Last year kicking off with Fausto, progressive Hard Trance, into uplifting euphoric Hardstyle from D-Block & S-Tefan, into harder Darker Hardstyle from Donkey Rollers, and finishing off with the likes Evil Activities with European Hardcore!!

The way it shud be done then? =P it jus feels a bit like frantic have caught on to Hardstyle being more popular these days an they've jus thrown it into the mix - an not thought about how to warm the night up!! to go from cally gage Straight in to frisky. . . well its kinda like Euphoric, sing along hands in the air hard house to STOMPING hardstyle from frisky - it felt like there was no transition in between!

ya know they got a 9 hour slot . . . 3 hours Hard trance -3 hours of hard house - 3 hours of hardstyle; perfect progression an it wuda warmed everyone up nicely to get right on into something stomping!

No way would I complain if I went to such an event, keeps everyone happy except for the clubbers who like Fluf & Cheezzzzzzze! (H)

"Sensation" Black blew me away in March, the lineup flowed perfectly!

Agreed! I feel that in this case they put the big names smack into the middle and "noobs" at the beginning or end as there is no risk of them "offending" the crowd if there isn't one there sorta thing...without thinking about how clubbers are going to react or cope or how the music is going to flow!

but im starting to find this is frantic all over, they seem to care less and less about how the music is gonna flow - in my personal opinion there was no thought to that lineup . . . I mean i dont really understand the transition from cally - frisky - kutski, they're three very different sounds! surely someone at frantic musta looked at that an been like "hang on, thats a bit of a funny one!" although im sure they just arranged it depending on the DJs status . . .

Talking from someone who follows DJ's and not brands, I came for the lineup. Activator was awesome; i know he's not everyone's cup of tea and yes, there was a lot of Hardstyle there that night, but at the same time there were 3 other rooms you could visit, and at the end of the day, if you don't like the lineup then go somewhere else!

This reminds me of a couple of years back when DJ Luna played at Storm, and back during the point when he blew a hole in one of the mixers, there were a load of guys in the back room moaning that they would sooner be watching Paul Glazby. Back then Paul Glazby was a resident and you could see him whenever you wanted to!
