What is Salacious Records?

Salacious Records was set up in 2004 by DJs/producers Andrew Read and Michael Jansons (DJ MAVERICK), professionally known together as ‘Goldie-Lox’. Originally set up to showcase Goldie-Lox material, the plans soon changed to parallel with the pair’s wider ambitions to release high quality electronic music alongside their own.

Salacious Records is jumping from strength to strength. Last year the Gutterpunk mix of Jaymo & Hauswerks’ ‘Don’t Stop’ caused a tremendous stir over club land in the UK and abroad, featuring on Pete Tong’s ‘Pure Pacha’ compilation and Chris Lake’s ‘Electronic Boutique’. Salacious continued with a string of solid releases over the summer and through the winter from in-house producer Christian Hoff who delivered ‘Hooker’ and ‘Booty Bar’ and Italian duo Overnoise who ended 2006 on a high with the release of ‘Dry’ which has seen support from the Klaxons (who played it in their mini-mix on the Annie Mac show on Radio 1, as well as in their set at Fabric), Dave Seaman and the electro-house scene as a whole.

Support for all the various Salacious releases have ranged from many influential tastemakers and media alike, to new rave pioneers the Klaxons. Standing out in this encouraging catalogue of releases are the ground-breaking underground mixes of Don Diablo’s ‘Blow’ that include superb mixes from both Sebastien Leger and Christian Hoff which all helped to made a firm mark for Salacious on the underground dance market.

To top this off, Salacious starts its monthly residency with Audio Tonic Underground at 360 in Dubai in February 2007, while Maverick continues his residency for the ever popular ‘Twitch’ night in London, alongside the likes of The Cheshire Catz, Bugz In Tha Attik and Mr.C and his trips to Sicily. If you want to keep at the forefront of modern British electronic music, you will need to keep your ear close to Salacious
