Thank you for sitting down with us ahead of this weeks Saturday Sessions…

Firstly, where did the name Freeform Five come from? Tell us what are you all about?
I always wanted Freeform Five to have a revolving cast of characters - but I hadn't found anyone of them when I made my first record, so I chose the name because it implied there was more people involved than just me.

You’re playing in the Bar this Saturday, what can we expect to hear from you?
Whatever feels right to tear the party apart at that moment.

If you had to describe your style in three words what would they be?
Technicolour acid house

You have stormed the charts and have become a household name, what’s the secret to your success?
I always do what I want and if people like it that's great, but you can't worry about what reaction the music you make will provoke. You just have to approach everything you do with honesty and integrity.

How have you dealt with your rising success, have you had any surreal moments when it’s hit you that you’ve made it to where you want to be?
Generally traveling all over the world to play is an amazing thing that I still can't get over sometimes.

What have you been up to over the last couple of months?
I've taken a bit of time out from Freeform Five to produce & remix some other artists with a friend under the name Kid Gloves (people like Ladyhawke, LIttle Boots, Santogold etc) and I just mixed Ebony Bones' debut album, plus some remixes, gigs, running my label Perspex which has been putting out tracks and remixes from Derrick Carter to Riton to Gabriel Ananda etc.

Soo where can you go from here, what’ coming up in 2009 for Freeform Five?
I'm now back to focusing on new Freeform Five music. I promise!

You guys have been playing all over the world, where has been your favourite place to play?
The best thing is you never know what a gig is going to be like - it's amazing to go and play in places like Japan and Australia but you can turn up to a little town in the middle of nowhere with no idea how good the party is going to be and it turns out to be insane...

Right, tell us how did you come together? Where did you meet and decide to work together
Freeform Five is just a traveling circus of people really. We pick up (and lose) people along the way all the time. It stays interesting and fresh that way.

Do you ever clash in the studio?
Not if everyone agrees with me...

What influences you or inspires you when it comes to producing?
I try to get inspiration from things outside of music as much as possible, or at least outside of electronic music. I find it's the best way to keep your musical individuality.

How does your DJ-ing style vary from your productions?
It's all part of the same thing, but I always try and make music that works on a different level outside of clubs too

Do you ever get any crazy fans or any weird music requests when DJ-ing?
There are some things you have to keep secret.

Have you ever had any funny experiences at a gig? Has anything ever gone wrong?
Doing live shows, stuff always goes wrong - from missing band members to falling off the stage...

Are there any other DJ producers that are doing it for you right now?
Some guys called Mercury from Switzerland are really killing it for me right now.

What are your top five tracks?
1. Alexander Robotnick - Obsession For the Disco Freaks (Freeform Five Reform) (Fools Gold)
2. DAF - Der Rauber Und Der Prinz (Mercury Remake) (CDR)
3. Malente & Dex feat. Bonde do Role - Bangkok (Freeform Five Reform) (Exploited)
4. Bloc Party - One More Chance (Kid Gloves Remix) (CDR)
5. Siriusmo - High Together (MonkeyTown Records)

Thank you for taking the time to sit down with us, you have been great!

See you Saturday !!

Please find below the press release for his upcoming compilation album, ‘THIS IS SANDER KLEINENBERG 2’ >> RELEASE DATE: 20th July 2009
LABEL: LITTLE MOUNTAIN RECORDINGS
FORMATS: PHYSICAL 2XCD / DIGITAL MIXED + UNMIXED

Pioneering International DJ, producer and label boss Sander Kleinenberg is back with an impressive new mix compilation called ‘This Is Sander Kleinenberg 2’ on Little Mountain Recordings.

This release showcases Sanders’ unique and forward thinking DJ sets, reflecting his legendary club night of the same name which has touched down at major cities all over the world including London , Paris , Miami , LA and his native Amsterdam .

This special two disc affair sees the Dutch legend serve up some of the finest progressive, tech house and electro cuts around including ten unreleased tracks, eight Little Mountain Recordings tracks and one exclusive compilation remix to make the perfect soundtrack to your summer.

The first disc, ‘Left’, kicks things off with a laid back atmospheric slice of electronic bliss called ‘Summer Rain’ from Bpitch control’s starlet Sascha Funke. The mix builds effortlessly; blending a fine selection of different House styles including standout tracks such as David Keno’s ‘Replika’, Rainer Weichhold’s remix of ‘Push Push’ by Rockers Hi-Fi and the previously unreleased Sultan and Ned Shepard remix of ‘Asteroidz’ by DBN featuring Matida. This disc has a very sexy, uplifting and funky feel to it which just leaves you wanting more.

The second disc, ‘Right’, shows Sander’s rougher and tougher side. It commences with a spoken word vocal sample looping over Rene Amesz’s previously unreleased Electro/Tribal track ‘Ridicule’. The mix develops with some driving tech-house including Luetzenkirchen’s ‘Foxy’ and DJ Ortzy’s exclusive Dirty Flavor compilation remix of ‘Massive’. Sander powers the mix home with Dabruck & Klein’s dominant peak time electro remix of Joachim Garraud’s ‘The answer’ and concludes with Mason’s brilliant chilled Refurb mix of ‘Kippschwinger’.

This compilation truly displays how versatile Sander can be, drawing on a vast array of styles and using them in an innovative way to create his unparalleled sound. Each disc offers something slightly different and follows on brilliantly from his hugely popular first compilation in the series.

This release also celebrates Sander’s coveted Pure Pacha, Ibiza , residency where you will find him performing to packed crowds every Friday throughout the summer starting May 29th to October 2nd 2009, not to be missed!

Later this year, watch out for Sander’s première Artist album. The album contains a plethora of amazing new productions which he has worked on with US heavyweight Josh Gabriel. The first single from the album will be Sander’s remarkable new tune ‘This Is Our Night’ which has gained huge support from BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong.
