Its also worth checking out the Bank Bar (just off Castle Hill Avenue) underneath Kalala's. Decent venue with good DJ's. I agree tho, apart from here and Skuba, its pretty much down hill all the way.

A couple of reasonably good bars for Friday night to start the weekend off is good enough for me. Is the Town Centre Close for wandering around on Saturday during the day??

Depending on where you are staying of course? If you are in any of the main hotels its all a short walk away. However, don't get over excited about the shops either, not a fantastic selection I'm afraid! If you've got a car you would be better driving up to Maidstone, more choice and approx 30 mins drive. If its just a mooch about you want you'll be fine. I guess you'll want to save all your energy for GC anyway!!

Blimey, it really sounds crap in Folkestone, but surely it can't be worse than Chatham where I am?!

I think it will probably just be a little mooch around in Folkestone to be honest, wont a major shopping spree, gonna wait for the January sales & get some bargins then!!!!!

Thanks for the tips.

Honestly no, its not as bad as Chatham. If you can handle Chatham you can handle Folkestone!!! You will meet some nice people at GC, which will make up for it. Hope you have a good 'un x
