What is Stupid Underground?

WELCOMES YOU!

STUPID UNDERGROUND / biography

Since March 2005 Stupid Underground has gained a reputation for throwing some massive parties at the Custard Factory. In fact, their first two events in 2007 completely sold out the whole Custard Factory filling the place each time with over 1000 hedonistic, fun loving music minded clubbers.

Djs that have played for Stupid Underground are Darren Emerson (Underworld), Stanton Warriors, Dj Sneak, Mr C, Derrick Carter, Freestylers, Lee Coombs, Evil Nine, General Midi, Drumattic Twins, Slyde, Freq Nasty, Sharam Jey, David Duriez, Honey Dijon, Blim, Jo Mills, Soul of man, Elite Force, and Stupid Undergrounds favourite music is Breakbeat and Underground House, although recent additions of a Drum and Bass room have proved popular.

Managed by former Godskitchen promoter Steve Carter (Dj Get Carter), Stupid Underground is an experienced promotional force and their packed parties never disappoint. When Stupid Underground have an event on it seems like the whole City knows about it, with months of preparation and promoting going in to each event, the end result is often very exciting indeed.

Their free parties are also establishing themselves as pretty mental affairs at the Custard Factory. Future goals are to take the Stupid Underground party vibe in to other Cities, and it seems that the only real stupid people are those that don’t attend Stupid Underground events because these parties are must do affairs on any sane persons clubbing calendar.

BUNKA

Bunka was born over 2 years ago out of a need for a fresh underground house and techno night in Birmingham. With humble beginnings at the Bull’s Head in Moseley and a no bullshit, back-to-basics policy it has developed into a force to be reckoned with on the local party scene. Its roster of guests and resident DJs relies on home grown talent from in and around the midlands who know their music.

COG

Cog is one of Birmingham’s most exciting and fastest evolving, underground nights. A unique mix of underground house and techno that encompasses all that is innovative. Cog has been growing for over two years now, originally a monthly night at Rooty’s at the Custard Factory now based at the renowned Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath where it continues to grow.

After a hugely successful 2009 in which they joined forces to bring quality DJs such as Billy Nasty and Rolando to Birmingham, Bunka & Cog head into 2010 with a fresh outlook and a number of bigger parties in the pipeline with some exclusive guests and a new concept for Birmingham with… the TYPE Series … Watch this Space!

DUSTY KID

Joining Deuce, Bunka and Cog in the Factory Club and performing LIVE will be Italy’s Dusty Kid. Dusty Kid provided Radio One’s essential mix on Saturday 24th October. It was a sublime 2 hours of melodic, psychedelic techno and considered by many to be one of the best essential mixes of all time! Dusty Kid the producer is also making big waves in the download charts with his album ‘A Raver’s Diary’ showcasing his knack for creating electronic sounds that you will have never heard before.

EARLY DOORS

Early Doors is one of the freshest Drum & Bass nights in Birmingham and has its origins in the old skool ethics once found at midlands clubs such as Quest and The Edge. This ethos has helped the creators, Subdiue and Initial, receive support from all corners of the West Midlands during the past 12 months from liquid to jump up creating an event that focuses on no agenda other than the love of music. With over 15 years experience in the scene, Subdue & Initial are once again capitalising on the wealth of midlands talent bringing you the mighty Benny & Aries plus owner of Class A recordings CKB.
