Have a DJ and VJ lesson with Markus Schulz in Ministry's DJ booth

This article is about Soundas @ Ministry of Sound @ Ministry of Sound in London (UK), Fri 09 Oct

Markus Schulz is set to exhibit an audio and visual feast at Ministry of Sound on Friday October 9.

The Coldharbour boss is one of the biggest trance DJs to dip his feet into the specialist area of visual DJing, which he's showcasing at The Gallery – which also plays hosts to the Trance Awards that night.

Markus is teaming up with The Gallery, Mixmag and DSI to offer a (very) select few the chance to take part in a DJ master class at the club, just hours before he tears up the same Ministry dance floor. You’ll learn how to mix, massage and craft audio and visuals together direct from the man himself. You’ll be able to pick up further tips direct from those award-winning fingers with VIP entry into the club for the main event.

To win this prize just tell us in the comments below why you need a DJing lesson. You must be available on October 9 from 9pm. Normal Mixmag Ts and Cs apply. We'll pick a winner on Thursday October 8.

Well I have traveled all the way from South Africa to UK in search a master class DJ School. I am only here till early next year and it would be a dream come for me to have this opportunity since I always wanted to DJ since the age of 15. Trance makes the world go round. Why not spread this epidemic!!!!

I'd love to be able to do something a bit more productive with my passion than just pounding various dancefloors here, there and everywhere, weekend in, weekend out. Nothing wrong with that in itself and I do it because I love it... but in the long run all that stomping can't be good for the knees, can it?

I still hold out a dream of going to The Gallery and Godskitchen one weekend behind the decks rather than in amongst the crowd. Hopefully a nice, Schulz-shaped boot up the arse might give me the inspiration to actually do something about it.

Hohoho ;D Idea sounds wicked:) We all know how difficult is to get thru in music industry:) So why i need a lesson with Markus ?:) Thats the cleva one :) Because i can bring my own tracks, mixing them to have fun :) and make few people listen to my tunes :) That could make my journey into club music shorter :) Would you think ?:)

I have been a bedroom DJ for a while and would appreciate the opportunity to take what I already do to the next level. I have been a fan of Markus for many years, I always look forward to my ‘New Trance Fridays’ listening to GDJB and ASOT to get me thru the day.
This new aspect of DJ’ing adding the visuals in utilising the DVJ-1000 seems an interesting progression which I would love to investigate further. I have seen Sander Kleinenberg utilise them effectively and the idea of controlling the crowds visual experience aswell as sound I believe can help create a better overall event.

I'm Matt, 21 years old, completely unemployed!! I graduated from university earlier this year but now i'm in the process of sharing my time between job hunting, and DJ practicing (in the hope that if i never get a job, I could always become a DJ if I ever become good enough...)

I'm a massive fan of The Gallery, and I have been since my very first trance experience blew me away back at Turnmills. Whilst at university I did also do my best to help promote The Gallery by organising several trips which took hundreds of students to the Ministry of Sound Friday night. So I tried my best to parade The Gallery to as many people as I could, I love it!

I've seen Markus on numerous occassions at The Gallery and I've always known him to be one of the smoothest mixers in the business. And he really knows how to rock the box with those infamous deep, dark basslines. I've never met the guy, but I did once manage to catch a gallery tshirt signed by the man himself!..haha!... Aside from that, I'd absolutely love the chance to get a DJ & VJ lesson from this guy, so please consider me! "Do you dream" to get a DJ lesson like this?.. I certainly do!
