THE POISON 10/10/2009 @ CLUB 139 in POLAND…

Well the Poison has once again gone out to Poland and rocked it big time what a party and weekend we had in Tarnow. For those of you that could not make it to our weekend of mayhem I thought I would tell you a bit of what we got up to while we were out there.

THE BEGINNING!



So our journey started on Friday the 9th all of us who were going met up at Poison Promoter Chris’s house. First thing on the agenda was of course a cold beer and general conversations about how ready each of us was for the trip. After that was established we moved onto more cold beer and trying to fit about 50kg’s of dj equipment, wall hangings, lighting, Poison merchandise and general party goodies into each of our luggage. No small feat I can promise you. So by now it’s just after 2am on Saturday morning so Stansted Airport here we come. After two hours of very loud kicking beats, countless miles of speed restricted motorways and one wrong turn at the last junction we arrived at our destination. Off to the check we go and pray that we are all within our required weight limit, can’t be leaving anything or anyone behind. Through the check in and security we go for our fry up of eggs and bacon with of course some more cold beer.

TAKE OFF!

So after a further two hours on extremely warm Ryan Air flight and a couple of bottle of Smirnoff vodka “which had us playing silly buggers and laughing at anything and everything the whole way there” we touched down in Krakow. After collecting our belongings and a quick cigarette outside we met up with the manager of Club 139 Edy “who was also our transportation to Tarnow” we loaded our bags in the van and hit the road first stop to get some cold Polish beer and then navigate the 120 km’s of what I can only describe as some of the bumpiest road I have ever been on. We arrived at the venue and I have to say that I was well impressed the place was huge. We set up all the things that need to be done in side the club and set off to the hotel dropped off our crap and headed out for some lunch and more beer. After having lunch we headed back to the hotel for a shower and a very quick power by this time it was after five o’clock and we had to be at the club at eight. So at about seven we all met around a table in the hotel each poured a drink and toasted to the awesome party to come, each of us with a massive grin on our faces excited to get to the club.



139 HERE WE COME!



We arrive at Club 139 and it looks completely different teeming with live, lights and color under the dark night of the Polish skies. We enter the building and to my surprise there is another massive room, the club just got a whole lot bigger “wicked more people”. We move into the main room and already there are people all around the room looks even better now that all the club lights are on. Now we have two hours before we start our show, so what do we do get some more vodka, mingle and head to the VIP room. After a quick bit of filming in front of the green screen for E-Club TV we had a few more drinks and laughs” especially about my pour attempt at saying greetings from the poison in polish on film, blindside me completely” and head down to start the show.



SHOW TIME!



First up was BOL3TZ a.k.a R2, you know I was there when he mixed his very first beat and to see where he is today is an absolute pleasure to watch and listen to him. His set was a flow of fat techy basslines with huge kicks and loads of wicked rolling percussions each song better that the last. Next up ARTHUR KEEN, well where to start Artur in the time that I have known him he has never failed to deliver some special. He is incorporating so many different things into his live shows chaos pads, Pioneer effects mixer, Allen & Heath Xzone mixer and so much more. It is just such a spectacle to watch and he has the crowd jumping from start to finish “well done sir hats off to you”. Now it was Time to start the harder side of the evening that’s right boys and girls it Time for me JUSTIN TIME. Now I have always found it a bit difficult when it comes to righting about myself but here we go. So I will quote what I have picked up from some of the chat forums. “Justin’s set was wicked he played an awesome range of remixed classic trance and hard trance tracks that had the floor rocking he to was jumping around and have a great time”. This is true I had a BLAST, sign me up for the next trip please. Last but most certainly not the my new up and coming hero of hard dance NITROMIND, this kid is something truly amazing his technical abilities and scratching is truly astounding, he set was well put together U.K. hard dance and trance which had us all jumping and screaming like mad folk. Nitromind is most definitely a star of the future in the hard dance.



COMING TO THE END OF OUR JOURNEY!


The time now is five in the morning we call a cab and go back to the hotel we sat for a further three hours drinking more vodka, chatting about the evening telling silly jokes and laughing till the sun came up. All in all it was a fantastic experience one that I hope to do again soon the Polish people were great really friendly and you would be surprised by how many speak English. I would just like to say a big thank you everyone that made this event possible, it was amazing something I will never forget. I am really excited about The Poison’s future, we are headed for big things and we hope you will be right along side us as we do.
