The Vinyl Touch is one of London's longest-running breakbeat events, launched in a small north London bar in 1999 by (the very good looking) Mr Swifty-B. Just five years later with the help and passion of TVT's extremely hard working team of (not so good looking) creative individuals The Vinyl Touch parties gained masses of talk on the street resulting in attracting 1000+ people from all over the world at every event.
The Vinyl Touch kicked off with a desire to play and hear Nu Skool Breaks, from the outset the night was one of the first to book cutting-edge DJs such as The Breakfastaz and Control Z. As The Vinyl Touch grew, it took on more music policies – all the stuff we know and love to party to: drum & bass, house, old skool hardcore, and hip hop.
The club night has appeared all over – from residencies in WKD (Camden), Think Tank (Leeds) and Electrowerkz (Angel, London) to events at Ministry of Sound (London), The Arches (London) and Ikon & Diva (Southampton). The Vinyl Touch has also hosted rooms at Bagleys (now Canvas, Kings Cross, London), Camden Palace (now Koko, London) – and to spread the love that little bit further, there's a monthly DJing residency in Poland.
Over the years The Vinyl Touch ravers have been treated to the likes of Ellis Dee, Ratpack, Atomic Hooligan, Aquasky, Niki Dimensions, Ed209, Billy Bunter, Shut Up & Dance, Nicky Blackmarket, Phantasy plus many more.
Vinyl Touch Records made its first tear-out breaks release in May 2006, and continued to put out tracks by Swifty B, Joe Rapid, The Magnet Men, and LOFI Rebel (Bruno Lawton) with forthcoming releases by guest artists.
