What is Toolbox Music?

With 7 years of experience of entertaining a generation that likes it hard, Toolbox Recordings has become one of the fittest fighting labels in the industry, living up to the tough image that its logo represents.

Throughout the years Toolbox has become a firm favourite with many of the DJs who favour the hard stuff. This is not only evident through DJ play lists and charts worldwide, but as well as through it’s presence on high profile compilations, proving it’s a label well worth connecting to on a global scale. Euphoria, Tidy, Vicious, Republic, Trade and Frantic are just some of the leading compilations to have licensed the labels works, with DJ icons including Lisa Lashes, Anne Savage, Tidy Boys, Paul Glazby and Andy Farley all using tracks form from labels catalogue on their own commercial release comps.

As a major player in the industry Toolbox has also braved the commercial compilations market and has enjoyed success with a number of their releases. Toolbox Vol One, What’s Your Pleasure, Toolbox V and more recently Toolbox Vol 2 have all enjoyed success, again strengthening the labels profile. Legends and world class Hard House jocks Paul Glazby, Andy Farley and Justin Bourne have joined Toolbox artists such as Nik Denton, Paul King, Dave Owens and Lucy Fur on the line up of talent who have mixed the albums, a credit to the status of Toolbox in the industry.

Add to the total of 6 commercial release albums a back catalogue of over 50 high quality vinyl releases and a digital offshoot label that is as impressive as the main, it’s easy to see why in 2008, Toolbox continues to go from strength to strength.

Appearing on the label and indeed the foundation to the success of the Toolbox brand, is an impressive list of artists that reads as the ‘whose who’ of the Hard House world. Dom Sweeten, Paul Maddox, Jon BW, James Nardi, Marc Johnson, Paul Janes, DMF, Ben Stevens, Riggsy, Paul King, Jon BW, Alex Calver, Simon Eve, Rodi Style, Justin Bourne, Dave Owens, Steve Thomas, Pete Wardman, Lucy Fur, Tim Stokes, P.A.S, Andy Farley, Paul Glazby and of course label boss Nik Denton are just some of the artists/producers who have appeared and most definitely impressed.

Aside from the label, Toolbox sits firm as one of the most important foundations in the Hard House industry. Its distribution arm of the business is now the only distributor in the world dedicated to Hard Dance and Toolbox Music represents without doubt the biggest and best labels, including Tripoli, Flashpoint and Deprivation.

And as if that wasn’t enough, June 2008 sees Toolbox launch its own monthly night in Manchester alongside close allies Red Artist Management. ‘Coalition’ will be the cities brand new playground for true Hard House lovers and one that looks set to impress just as much as the label has been impressing its fans for the past 7 years.

Innovative, consistent, reliable and legendary are just a few words that you might find being used to describe Toolbox, and in 2008 the label is being watched more closely than ever to see what the next step in its history will be.
