LOCO's 3rd BIRTHDAY

PROUDLY PRESENTING...

Flyer Design: Steve Farmer ©

ASHLEY CASSELLE
(GU / Ashtrax / The Remote)

Ashley's DJ career began 10 years ago after fellow Hastonian John Digweed asked him to take over the alternative room of his new night Bedrock on Hastings pier. This gave him scope to experiment and entertain in his own style, blending vintage funk with phat beats, disco with dubby techno and all manner of different musical styles, he
quickly gained respect from a wide range of DJs which resulted in a residency at Riviera with Stuart Patterson where he developed his blend of funky tech even further. Later he found himself joining Sasha & Digweed on their highly acclaimed Northern Exposure tour, playing to highly enthusiastic up for it crowds which helped pave the way for his next residency..at Gatecrasher! He suddenly found himself playing before legends like Carl Cox and Paul Oakenfold, his groovathon sets becoming the stuff of Northern folklore..

Since those hey-days Ashley has risen from playing seminal deep house clubs like 'riviera' with kenny Hawkes+stuart patterson to earning residency status at gatecrasher.besides the usual domestic gigs at Cream, Colours, Bedrock etc, the last 12 months have seen him headlining internationally at [to name a few]...Vinyl NYC, Spundae in San Fransisco, Zouk in Singapore, Home in Sydney, La Boom in Mexico as well as China, Japan, Canada, S.Africa, Holland etc... in July, he takes up Paul van Dyk's invitation to play the Berlin Love Parade spinning in front of a million people on Paul's truck !!.

As Ashtrax [with James Christopher], he produces irresistibly danceable records with no genre restrictions, blending house, techno, breaks and ear nudging melodies.. having remixed PVD in a breakbeat stylee, Timo Maas and more the Ashtrax sound has become a staple diet for DJ's who want something exciting and different This year will see the new Ashtrax single 'Digital Reason' released on Deviant and the spacey vocal house anthem 'Midnight Sun' on Junior/Fuju. The duo will start live shows around Nov with 'Digital Reason' already in huge demand from jocks months before it's release.

Ashley has released 2 mix cd’s - 'Deviations' on deviant and 'Response' on Automatic to critical acclaim reflecting the diversity of his sets, understandable when you consider he's played alongside everybody from Danny Howells to Adam Freeland to Junior Vasquez !!.

JUSTIN DRAKE
(Peace Division / DC10 / Crosstown Rebels)

As half of the production juggernaut Peace Division, Justin Drake has had a hand in unleashing studio tracks and remixes that have over the past few years become the gold standard for all things sinister and tribal. Peace Division records are a staple for the likes of Steve Lawler and Tom Stephan, and Danny Tenaglia himself has said "Never before have I played so many tracks by the same artist in one night!" A buzz is felt amongst DJ hopefuls upon the release of a new Peace Division cut – will it live up to their reputation? Their mighty tribal anthem, "Feel My Drums", launched the UK imprint Fuju. It's quite simple, really - Peace Division tracks are the business, no fucking about. The partnership of Drake and Clive Henry results in rampaging drums and wicked bass lines that compel you to dance, yet can still produce that feeling of slight uneasiness brought on by big dark rooms full of dancing bodies and loud music, a sensation which has become all too elusive in the predictable night out that Big Clubbing has become.

First time back clubbing for a few years and have to admit that it was the perfect intro back into the scene. Rather liked the club itself - good atmos and friendly people. Could have done with some lights / lazers etc but the music more than made up for it, will be returning soon when i see a line up i rekon id like !
