Zombies Ate My Brain presents…
My Bloody Valentine
Saturday 14th February 2009
The LIGHTBOX - London
With a special LIVE performance from

MATHEW JONSON (Wagon Repair / cobblestone jazz)

Born into the city that never sleeps, ‘Zombies Ate My Brain’ is the only London club night that delves in all things dark and haunting bringing with it the ultimate combination of the humble ‘party’ and the dangerously alluring ‘after-party.’
With a loyal following of bloody dressed up ravers & a keen focus on underground house & techno music – this is one club night that will not leave you disillusioned.
With past guests like James Holden, Marc Houle, Wighnomy Brothers, Ewan Pearson, Ralph Lawson, Mr C & a host of London finest DJ’s make Zombies a must.

For our first party of 2009 we have invited one of Techno’s finest players … Mathew Jonson.
Hailing from Vancouver B.C - Mathew Jonson has built a solid reputation over the past few years through his participation in the Modern Deep Left Quartet, Cobblestone Jazz and by various productions under his own name & releases on his own label Wagon Repair and also on Perlon, M-nus, Kompakt & ItisWhatitIs
Mat’s deeply moody solo performances, combined with his impressive session playing in the Modern Deep Left Quartet and Cobblestone Jazz, served to build a reputation for masterful composition, riveting and intensely emotional musicianship and, ultimately, national and international acclaim. His solo productions for Itiswhatitis & Perlon recordings have brought worldwide fame, evident in his travels to Geneva, to work with Luciano, Germany and his performance at Mutek’s Micro 7—a prelude to Mutek’s 3rd edition were he played with Cobblestone Jazz. Although Mat’s Itiswhatitis releases have been licensed by such luminaries as Dan Bell and Carl Craig, attracted the praise of Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier and Larry Heard, Mat’s understated modesty speaks through the deeply personal nature of his work, a testament to his artistry and genuine character.

Mathew’s Live sets are distinctly original (this is not your ordinary Ableton Live set!).
Mathew performs from 24 channel mixer with various Keyboards, synths & effect units ensuring a very personal reflection of his love for Jazz, House, Fusion & Techno!

I couldn't agree more, it looks like we are going to have double celebrations.

Matthew Jonson is class! But Zombies Ate my Brain is always a class act. Looks like another sell out at The Lightbox, can't imagine that there's many of the earlybird tickets left. Mind you with the Watcha and Jonson at the decks, who minds paying more??

Had a look....on once before now...the 'wish list' bit dosen't count!

I shall be leading the birthday troops onwards to Jaded, at it's new fantabulous location, afterwards.

I think you'll find that you made that inference when you called me the pied piper!

All my friends are lovely people with excellent taste which is why they are going to Zombies & Jaded, the fact that I am celebrating my birthday there just makes it extra special for me. Great music, great company, great locations. I really couldn't ask for anything more!

Check out this Video of Mathew Jonson playing at Ibiza's
Underground club.

Turn up the volume & enjoy!

dancetrippin.tv

This time you're in for something different, its not your normal dj set but rather a live set from electronic phenom Mathew Jonson. He's gained a huge underground following for his productions such as 'Marionnette' and 'Folding Space'. While he can also dj, he can also mix his music live using a host of studio equipment and a powerbook. Rather than just combining two soundsources as a dj does, he is programming the beats live, adding and subtracting the different parts of his original tracks, while applying effects and resculpting the aural textures on the fly. We caught him recently making an appearance at Ibiza's more alternative 'Underground' venue in this video.
