West Exit is part of a story that houses decades of history and memories for thousands of music lovers. Formally known as The Crypt, the venue reopened its doors in March 2013 as West Exit, following an extensive refurbishment and is now carving out a new reputation with the next generation. West Exit is situated on the south coast, in the heart of Hastings town centre. Formed of a series of arches, intimate alcoves and varied size seating areas. The interior has a high-end design of industrial influence with state of the art sound & light instillations; Compromising of Funktion One dance stacks which are complimented by an intricate lighting system designed to use the internal space as a canvas, letting colour and light uniquely interact with sound and frequency. The exposed brickwork of the original archways, are themselves an attractive feature expressing the urban design influence, standing out against the black ceilings. The dance floor area is framed by the seating which was created from polished concrete that houses a heating system keeping the surface tepid. The two bars stock a large selection of premium spirits and bottled beers, the bar tops, also polished concrete flank the club offering a view of the dance floor from the main bar whilst the smaller second bar is situated next to the main seating areas in the larger alcoves.
