WE were talking last night about this when a couple of mates came over.. like Nikki, i'm pretty gutted that there is no Old skool pack like there was last year, and like Gazy asks.. where are the Academy sets?? I for 1 was looking forward to listening to some of the Project USA sets on the CD packs again..they are outstanding DJ's who travelled a hell of a long way (as did plenty of ravers from all over the world, granted) and they deserve some recognition on the CD packs i think.

All the sets i heard in spain were wicked, and yes i will most probably be getting all the Hardcore CD packs, BUT i am disappointed that there is no Old Skool sets or sets from the "Academy"

Suggestion for HTID (and i will post this on the HTID forum as well..) if all the sets are recorded.. would it not be possible to have them available for Download at a sensible price?? Lets see, a 7 CD pack is about £20.. who wouldnt pay £2.50 for an individual set which really stood out for you (at any event tbh) which isnt on the CD packs?? We have made the huge step of moving from tape packs to CD packs, as we are in the digital age can we not take it a step further and let us download sets of our choice as well?????

Sadly, not all of the sets are recorded. Also, each hour that makes it onto CD takes time to master to ensure optimum sound quality - this can run to many hours of work per hour of audio, in some cased.

We take a team of recording engineers out to Spain who spend each day locked in their apartment mastering the CD audio of the night before. To save time though, we only ask them to master the sets that we want on the pack. Obviously, we get them to concentrate their efforts on the most popular sets - ie the main room and the techno arena. This year, there were so many quality sets in the main 2 arenas there wasn't space on the pack, or mastering time available, to include sets from the Academy or Project USA.

Regarding Old Skool, there weren't enough Old Skool sets this year to justify a whole CD pack just for Old Skool - this may change for HTID In The Sun 2010.

Gabba-Bitch regarding your comments - sadly the techno boat party was cancelled, due to safety reasons. The owner of the boat has the final say as he is far more experienced than us at sailing and he felt it was unsafe to go out. We are as gutted as you about this as the techno party had proved to be one of the most popular of the week and we know people had been looking forward to it.

The Nicky Blackmarket pre-party was cancelled due to very poor attendances at previous pre-parties. If attractions aren't supported then sometimes we do have to make very difficult decisions. Our apologies for this. Pre-parties may be back next year in a different format where hopefully they will be better supported.

And, regarding Tommy Knocker - I can only see him on the flyer once. You may have noticed though that his set was changed from Arena 2 in to Arena 1? The flyer came out in approx August 2008 - this leaves a 10 month period where, sometimes, things can change.

We hope this answers some of your questions & comments - we're always happy to receive feedback either good or bad. We do take it all onboard with the aim of giving you the best events possible.

Cheers for the reply guys, I just know that this year from listening at the feedback out the club there were quite a few people (more than last year) that had come out for the other music not hardcore and were gutted as waited all week and maybe the Blackmarket pre party would have gone down a treat as all the other pre partys were hardcore especially as all the people from the gabba boat were ready to party with the boat cancelled.

and the catamaran with scorpio, vortex and squidgy b.

I heard about this - was cos of the weather apparently. We went out on boat before the last that got cancelled and to be fair on the way back the sea was reall choppy. Still tho, i'd of been so gutted if i was on the last boat - after all, everyone who was supposed to be on it didnt even get another chance :(

As for the recordings, i personally think all sets/raves out there should of been recorded!! Otherwise what really was the point??

After all:

Nicky Blackmarket is a drum and bass dj been in the seen long that i have been raving and that been 16 years......... These were the reasons we booked!!!!!

I mean how p*ssed off would we all be if we came back and they said, sorry, we didnt record squad-e for the whole week.

Its only fair, squad-e is my fav dj and i get to buy packs with his sets on. Just cos Nicky Blackmarket is not as popular with the group of people who went on this holiday doesnt mean he didnt have people there to listen to him.

Do i even make sense? Doubt it (standard) but i hope u can see my point haha
