This Week Judgement Sunday Spends 60 Seconds With Vicky Devine

1. What was the last thing you bought on your credit card?

Spanish Lessons – I’m trying my best to learn and am due to start my third course!!

2.What did the last text you received say?

“Hi Hun. Any chance you could sort me a set in Ibiza?” – that’s a pretty standard text for me to get this time of year!

3.What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen in Eden during your residency at Judgement Sunday

Well most of the weird things I have seen have been down to people partying just that little too hard! One of the ones that sticks in my mind is a guy we sat watching for nearly an hour whilst he tried to figure out how to get into the Funky Room. Anybody who has been to Eden knows the entrance has a curtain over it but that the rest is surrounded by a glass wall. He could see through the glass and see the people inside, hadn’t seen the doorway or the curtain, and basically spent an hour debating with himself and his reflection in the glass how on earth to get in there. Was most amusing!

4.If you hadn’t been a DJ/producer, what would your job be now?

Before I DJ’d full time I went to Uni for five years and have a Masters degree in Medical Microbiology and I then worked at a hospital in London! DJing was hobby at that stage and I guess if it hadn’t completely taken over my life I would still be working as a Medical Technician.

5..What small thing do you find really annoying?

My boyfriend picks his fingers and it drives me mad!

6..Where do you get your clubbing clothes from?

Oh all over the place really. I’m a bit of a high street girl so usually just go shopping in Manchester or at the Trafford Centre, but I also love shopping in Ibiza Town when I am out there in the summer.

7..If you could change one thing about the dance music industry, what would it be?

I’d rewind it twenty years and take it right back to how it all began. I’d love to have been at the very, very first “rave” and would love to have been DJing also at a time when everything was so new. I feel some elements from those days have been lost or forgotten in the mass explosion of the scene and it would be good to get some of those back.

8..Have you ever done something really embarrassing in a club?

I’m sure there are many – ha ha – but one I remember is when I was at an event in Norwich. I saw one of my friends round the other side of the stage and decided to walk across the front to get to them and say hello. What I didn’t realise (because I was keeping an eye on my friend who I was trying to get to) was that there was a gap in the stage between one side and the other. So as I walked across not looking at the floor I just fell straight through the gap right in front of everybody!

9..Describe your sound in three words please…

driving and uplifting and emotional

10..What advice can you give to any Ibiza virgins out there?

Use a condom! He he! No seriously – Ibiza has it all so just enjoy it, be careful and live the dream!
