Electric Vendetta @ Es Paradis

Ibiza, 2009

It’s the music which powers the pulsing heart of one of Manchester’s most eclectic and loved house, techno and electro nights: Electric Vendetta shifts from club to club knowing the quality of its acts will pack out and venue worth its rave biscuits. Manchester’s Mint Lounge has been treated, as has the fellow Manchester haunt and ever-improving Mecca of madness that is Area 51, and with even Blackpool super club The Syndicate blazed in its wake, Electric Vendetta – as Shameless’s Frank would say - knows how to throw a paaaar’ehhh (read: party!)

With nods from DJ Mag for their Manchester sessions in the bag, EV are now off to Ibiza to cause a little havoc and carve a piece of the White Isle for themselves. Their weapons of choice are a slice from the top of contemporary electronica’s ‘Best Of’ pile… stepping up to the decks as residents on rotation will be:

Bass Weazel – a production and DJ tag team who’ve knocked out belters like ‘Kill the fox’ which has been used to shred dance floors from Ibiza to London by the likes of Lee Mortimer and Armand Van Helden. Kiss radio jocks Loose Cannons have played Bass Weazel tunes, as has Uncle Tongy, and why wouldn’t they? With their large b-lines and ragga overtones the tracks are sure to unhinge any Ibiza party.

Bart B More – so good at the Baltimore, agitated (OK, fidget) house and serrated electro sounds is he, that he got a cover mount CD slot with DJ Mag recently. Striding ahead with these still evolving club sounds, B More’s one to catch as soon as you can. You’ll have no doubt heard his Toolroom tracks though, played by the man himself in one of his genre splintering sets, or by the likes of James Zabiela or Nic Fanciulli in one of theirs.

Kelevra – Fidget Kingdom have put out the Midland’s man’s tunes, as have Warehouse Music. His style should already be obvious from those labels; a blend of never-stands-still jack, twisted electro stabs and shades of garage

Style of Eye (4 dates) - skittering techno drums, raspy basslines and expansive, hands-in-the-air string pads, spiced with sirens, chirps and distortion: everything about this man is turned up to 11 and is probably why John Dahlback’s quality Pickadoll label rolled out Eye’s LP late last year.

Zoo Brazil (2 dates) – sharp as you like emotionally driven Swedish electro pairing who’ll make visits to techno town and house ville just when the melodies dictate. Labels like Get Physical and Pickadoll wouldn’t sign the pair’s tunes if they didn’t have an edge over the rest.

Miles Dyson (2 dates) – the USA, South American and much of Europe feature in Miles’ 2009 tour list. He’s the owner of Plasmapool Media and its 12 labels and spins a myriad of house and techno sprinkled with electro. His tracks ‘Electric Soul One’, his remix of 30Hz’s ‘Daddio’ and his releases on Ministry of Sound are earning him more and more fans. Which he deserves.

EV residents – residents play an important role in warming up the crowd – they know them best and so know how to grab them by the balls and never let up. These ressies are no different. Expect a mix of the best from the above artists.

So get ready for the rebirth of Es Paradise in the heart of San Antonio as EV send out their sonic booms to an all new crowd of people, using tried and tested party methods and compelling and talented DJs, to devastating effect. The Grecian décor and tropical surrounds will set the perfect tone for an escapist party which will transport those in attendance to a different level: clubbing heaven.
