SOS launch Success! Big thank you
Greetings one and all!

Well, what can I say? We’re astounded at the turnout to the SOS launch party at Babaloo Beach. Although the event was threatened by the weather it turned out that the Soulful House gods had other plans and gave us glorious sunshine all day long...

Thank you very very much to all those who supported and partied with us. You came and, it seems, we delivered. Many souls were saved. For those who missed it, here’s a little overview of the day...

The SOS session started with the Beatz Workin boys, doing what they do best. JD Bad Boy, G Fell and Tall Hall tag-teamed the four deck setup and, with their blend of old skool classics and soothing chill out grooves, started the day in an easing relaxing style.

Next up was the legend that is John Hobbs (Celebrity Records), bringing some serious funk to the already “hotting-up” party setting.

Special guest DJ, DeanJay took up the musical helm bringing with him a seriously soulful beach sound to tantalise the ears of the happy campers.

The musical baton was then passed to Stuart “The Barn” Murphy who, with his own unique clinical selection brought us all back to the days of house music gone by – truly inspiring.

With Mad Dog on percussion and Steve Sax (he also plays flute dontcha know) enhancing the musical flow, the SOS launch party was on course to provide a truly all round example of true house music.

Mesmerising visual performances from Bianca of the Fire Funk Inferno Performers left our eyes as well as our ears entertained!

Tito Pulpo (yours truly) was next on hand to bring out the foot stomping side of soulful house and finishing off as they started, the Beatz Workin boys were back bringing the musical journey to a memorable end.

The family day enjoyed by all. Soulful house proved to be entertaining to all ages, creeds, colours and species (even the puppies seemed to tap a paw or two). The end of the day left finished with a lot of tired but happy faces.

We have uploaded some pics and video of the day. If you have your own, please feel free to add them and tag any people you recognise.

SOS would also like to put out extra special thanks for all those who provided services, support and equipment to make this day such a roaring success. Susan Calvente (bless her cotton socks) very kindly donated her much loved CDJ decks. All of the performers donated their time, energies and equipment for free to create this special day. Their efforts, I hope, proved fruitful and appreciated by all.

Watch this space for future SOS events...the next one will be even bigger and even better!
