REBIRTH VERSUS ADDICTION FEAT HIXXY>MZONE>GAMMER>MARC SMITH @ The victoria hotel, forres in Aberdeen (UK)

WOW!!

Korrupt	The date was Saturday 20th August 2005. The destination was Rebirth v’s Addiction in Forres. Myself, The Doctor, MC Madman, MC Wotsee, Emma, Katrina, Maggie and Sandra left Hamilton round about 5ish to start our Notorious Adventure up north.. We stopped on the way to the party in Aviemore for a bit of scran because everyone was proper munched. We noticed this chippy and saw it was really busy, so we thought “that looks pretty decent” and all piled in. While in there Wotsee asked for a sausage supper and a coke. OMFG….£6.10 they charged him. £1.90 per sausage. Scandalous!! Was kinda funny though because he looked @ the receipt and instantly made up a rhyme about the robbin’ ********. Now that’s what I call talent!! Hahaha. Anyway, after leaving Aviemore, we descended on Forres. Arriving @ the Victoria Hotel we were greeted by Midge and Linda and shown to our rooms. Once we were all changed and ready to partaaay, we went downstairs to join the fun. I have to say – I really like the idea of the hotel upstairs from the venue. It’s one of those ones – if you’re a bit tired from too much ravin you can go upstairs for a wee bit and relax before you come back down again for a proper stomp. We got downstairs into the venue and M-Zone was giving the ravers a taste of what was to come from his set later on in the night. The crowd were loving it!! I was gutted that I missed the set from Andy S before M-Zone, because I heard it was proper bosh!! After M-Zones teaser set it was time for long time regular Mr Diverse himself Jay M to grace the hallow decks of Rebirth v’s Addiction. Jay gave us a quality set of Hard and Melodic tunage with tunes like “Brennan & Heart Remix of Dj Zemtec” and I’m almost positive I heard a wikked version of “Lock & Load”. Respect to da man called Jay M. Everytime I’ve seen him play out he rips it up mega and the Forres crew love him. RESCEPTA BRUVVA!!!! Once Jay M finished his set it was time for the PA of the night. Evolutions very own HYPERBASS. This was the 1st time since 1998 that the PA had appeared “live” and by the looks of it it was a well deserved comeback. The band consisted of Copey, The Doctor, MC Korrupt and 2 lovely dancers Candice and Toni. Kicking off with the Space Odyssey intro into “I became Hardcore, We’re Droppin This, Sign Of Love (new tune) to name a few the crowd were loving every minute of this. When I say HYPER..you say BASS!! ;o) Roll on BTTF at the Carling Academy Glasgow on the 10th Septemember. Next up on the decks was in my eyes the best back2back you could ever ask for. Dj Marc Smith & Dj Gammer with MC Wotsee and MC Activator longside. Notorious Vinyl v’s Essential Platinum. I thought this had been the first time this back 2 back had ever been done, but I’ve just been told otherwise. These guys absolutely ripped it in Forres. The favourite part of the set for me had to be when Marc dropped “2 Damn Tuffs -Blow The Roof Off”. At the break in the tune MC Wotsee started off with a slow rhyme and built it up really fast in time with tune. MEGA – RHYME – TASTIC. At one point I was like “will he ever come up for air?” Hahaha. Wikked performance lads!! How do you follow up from a set like that?? Well, let me tell you. Next on the decks we had Evolution Records very own dj The Doctor with MC Madman longside. Hixxy was meant to be doing a b2b with The Doctor, but due to family problems he could not make it which is a shame, because it would’ve been a blinder. The Doctor gave us a proper mash up of UK Hardcore. His intro was awesome. D-O-C-T-O-R. The Doc never fails to whip a crowd into a frenzy and this time with Madman longside you knew this was gonna be something that lil bit special. The highlight of the set for me was when The Doctor dropped “Re-cons mix of Cry”. Talk about hands in the air crew!!! All I could see was a mass of lightsticks in the air. Respect to the lads for creating that vibe. You knows it!! Finally, it was time for one of Forres’s adopted sons – Dj M-Zone. I’ve seen M-Zone play out a few times this year and he didn’t disappoint with MC Activator & Madman longside. He was saying to me that he loves coming up here to play for the Scottish Crew and by the looks of it they loved him playing too. Wikked set!! One more tune!! Hehehe All in all that had to be one of the best line ups to date in a long time in Scotland and hopefully it “will not” be the last. As a matter of fact – I know they’re just gonna get better and better. Big props to the Rebirth V’s Addiction Crew. You know who you are.
