Zoo Thousand and Shite.
This festival was poorly planned. The shuttle bus didnt exist...
So it took way longer to get to the event and cause lots of problems and loss of money on the way home. After paying extra money for VIP..I was told to queue to get in with everyone else, after two hours of this, got to the front and then was told that i could just walk straight in...
After this, i recieved exactly the same as the people whp paid less.
They had closer camping, there was no camping space, no showers, 4 toilets and anyone could get into the VIP tent...
On top of this.. In general, all the good bands pulled out or were taken off.. so the bands that i had came to see, didnt actually play.
This was extremely disappointing.

I totally agree. i had taken my 7 yr old daughter as it was billed as a family event, we got there at 9:30 still qued for 2 hours, got in and there was no security checks for wepons or drugs and 14+ yr old were bringing in crates of beer without being stopped which was also worrying. we pitched up and to be honest at 1st it didnt look too bad it was a good atmosphere but that soon changed, when acts like dizzy rascal didnt turnup on the 1st night my daughter was gutted and when we where told it was because alot of the acts hadnt been payed we where very angry.
we got back to the campsite to go to toilet and bed to find 12 portaloos and a 4 man urinal for the blokes not good!!. by 10pm many of the youngsters had got pissed and some had started fighting, this carried on till bout 5am, THE LACK OF POLICE AND SECURITY WAS DISGUSTING. we had also been told that people in the VIP campsite that many things had been stolen even tents themselves.
saturday was no beter with acts like wiley, roni size not playing also due to non payment.my daughter was in tears over this cos she had her heart set on seeing them, most of the DnB djs played at different times to the bill so we missed pendulum.
sunday was just as bad with NO HARDCORE TENT TURNING UP, so missed all the djs we wanted to see then. the only good thing about sunday was the increase in police and security and they even got there act together to search people on the way in (2 days too late!!) but unluckly by then the weather was shite.
ive been a festival goer for over 10 years and in my opinion ALL IN ALL THIS IS 1 OF THE WORST FESTIVALS IVE EVER BEEN TO, the only thing that made it special was spendin time with my family.
we travelled almost 300 miles for this and felt ripped off totally.
i could go on bout no ibiza angel/sedgway racing lack of kids rides food stalls etc etc but this is getting too long!!!

Zoo8? More like Poo8..

This was the most unplanned festival ive ever been to. I qued for about 1 hour and wasnt getting anywhere i then said to a stuard "Im ment to be vip why am i queing" she replied "Has nobody told you there isnt a que for vip" Well why not let people no! Then got to the vip campsite, nowhere to camp and worst of all we wer further away from the arenas than most of the standard campers we had 4 toilets between vip and the showers werent working this had really dampened the mood.

But i thought all was good cracked a few beers nice weather and went to the breakology tent got to 9 oclock and was waiting for dizzee rascal the people behind us had told us he wasnt turning up then we wer all throwing beer which scared lethal bizzle who took his time to get out, then he ripped up the set and all was good again mark ronson was great and every thing seemed good again.

Untill the next day more bands cancelled and toilets broke and tap n tin shut down. Chaz an dave were moved to vip and i didnt no so i missed them mitchell brothers, breakology tent and hadouken! were the highlight of my whole weekend pretty grim when i was looking forward to so much more acts.

Then the worst day of all sunday :| the lineup was already looking pretty grim but does it offend you, yeah? and athlete were playing, or were they? The mainstage was cancelled where nobody had been paid so really the whole weekend i was pissed off that isnt what festivals are about.

They really pulled our trousers down here, and if you paid extra for vip like i did you were mugged off!

Poo9? Dont even waste your momey.

I totally disagree i thought the secruity and the police where very tight and this festival despite the setbacks was a great sucsess but that might just be me. Also i agree with the violence but that cant be helped! But yeah was poorly organised!

It was very sad the way it all fell apart because the line up was a bold mix of music, hardcore, grime, metal, unknowns, dnB, funky house etc....
I had a great dance...
BUT yes I was very dissapointed about Dizzee and I've heard lots of rumours....Lethal Bizzel was brave to come on in front of an angry crowd but he turned it round.
I only went Friday and I got in easy...no checks on my tickets or anything.
There were underage drinkers and I lost count of the amount of pills I was offered !!!! by lads who looked about 12. Very worrying. I didn't stay. I could see it was unravelling but I danced for about six hours. The tents were the best, Pukka up, Lifted and all the DJ's

So many rumours indeed. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, fact is, no matter how much planning and organising before an event, things will still go wrong. For a first festival I think they just about pulled it off, everyone I saw in the arena was loving the vibe, even after 3 hours of queuing in the sun (Global go-ers waited 4 hours, Glasto revellers walked miles and miles to campsites). Lesson's to be learned from this, VIP not fulfilling it's meaning being one that springs to mind!, the organisation didn't go to plan, not enough information going out to the public for a start but the production certainly worked for me...the Dance tent was rammed all weekend!. As for the 'bankruptcy' rumour, not true! The fact that artists like Dizzee were paid and never turned up is tough on the festival organisers, even tougher on the hardcore fans!

Those that stuck it out to the end saw the Hives absolutely kill the stage and close what can only be described as an 'emotional' 3 days! x

You'll have to wait and see if it goes ahead yet as the last i heard was that the main event organiser was seriously ill.

I got to say that it's the most poorley organised thing I have ever had the displeasure of playing at. Our set was delayed by three hours and they wanted to keep us in the 'green room' waiting to go on for that time. Some groups that were due to be playing in the VIP turned it in cause it was so disorganised. We were playing after Chas and Dave and played the set before the Mitchell Brothers so we had a nice little crowd. We were scheduled for 2 hours and ended up playing for 35 mins.

Altogether pretty rubbish. I feel sorry for the large bands that had tight schedules to stick to. If they do run it again, which I will be very suprised by, then they have a lot to learn from. If they read their forum I think they will realise quite out of hand it got.

I would like to say that the this weekend could have been a great start for a Kent festival! ZOO8 had a tough act to follow after going to Electric Gardens the last two years. We had highs and lows throughout the weekend! It is a shame the lows are the only things that are remembered and comented on. Yes i was annoyed that i had to queue for 5hrs just to be faced by a full campsite and another thousand odd campers behind me; Yes the camping facilities were inadequate; Yes the amount of toilets was grossly underestimated; Yes there were a lot of underage drinkers and i could go on, but i am begining to bore myself with all the faults! On the other hand, the Breakology tent, Lifted tent, Charlie's church & Groove Monkey were brilliant; Mark Ronson, Haduken and Ash were superb and the Chew the Fat tent on Sunday was uplifting and took away the Sunday rainy blues. So in all, for me i think that it is a big shame for Kent that this did not take off as i would have liked it to. Like Little E said maybe Electric Gardens next year if it is on but don't forget that the music stopped at 10:30pm on the Saturday night and 9:30pm on the Sunday night, for me this was a bad point. I also think that the web site for ZOO8, although very well constructed, oversold the facilities and made some bold and frankly untrue promises. It would have been better to tell the truth then people would not have been dissapointed with what they actually got.

I think that it is a great shame that an event that was so well supported and held so much promise just did not deliver!!!!!

I agree, we had to wait 3 hours in a queue to get into the place, which was very porrly organised. Luckily we only went for the saturday and the bands we wanted to see were playing, however we missed a few due to the long hours spent queing up. Apart from that, they had no explanation a to why the rascals never turned up, and after an hour of playing with a ball in the crowd and chanting lyrics towards the empty stage, Nick Harrison finally arrived. He managed to get the crowd going again but for us then to wait for marner brown. After this Hadouken! came on, only for them to be nearly 3 hours late. Aswel as this, the organiser hadn't even told us why half the bands hadnt turned up and it took James from Hadouken to tell us. Apart from this, it seemed an alright day, until walking out we found pills on the floor, and there was also a drug dealer in there that no one had planned to check whilst walking in. I don't think Kent could pull this off next year, not with the bad reviews it has had. Apart from this, the bands which did actually play were fantastic, lets just hope next year they organise a bit better.
