Sexy Chocolate celebrates it's 5th birthday in it's other residency at the newly refurbished Three Zero in Bank Street, Ashford and what a party we have planned for everyone on the re-launch weekend of the bar.

Firstly as an extra special event we've managed to get 2 very special guests down for our birthday.....Umberto Giannini & Aaron Liddard.

So here's a few words about our special guests

Umberto Giannini....

An eclectic mix of late 70sdisco and early 80s garage, firmly fused by black music influences – these are the vital inspirations that make up Umberto Giannini’s sound. Growing up in South London exposed Umberto to a melting pot of infectious sounds. But it was the introduction of 80’s electro that really marked a turning point as he and close school friend, Cut Master Swift, trawled record shops for every trace of the new electro sound. This, coupled with the London pirate radio scene and stations such as LWR, where DJs were pioneering a fresh new house vibe, turned Umberto’s music interest into pure fascination. Now, with an enviable rare vinyl collection and a firm fan base following across the UK, Umberto pours his influences into his own special brand of house music. Welcome his exclusive house experience into your home every Saturday night via his radio show, or catch him in clubs across the UK and Europe. Previous gigs include: Sexy Chocolate (Folkestone), Club Real (Slovenia), Red Room Sessions (Leicester), House Rules (Clapham) and of course Ministry of Sound Umberto’s favourite house track and club? Well, The Night Writers ‘Let the Music Move You, Sounds of the Urban Jungle ‘Jungle Luv’ and Marshall Jefferson’s ‘The House Music Anthem’ remain his number one classics. As for the clubs, The Shelter in NYC, which houses Timmy Regisford and The Ministry Of Sound in London still remain as my personal favourites. As for the future? Who knows, in my opinion dance music is going through a revolution at the moment With the advent of the mp3 file DJ’s and producers are able to play and create music like never before, who says dance music is DEAD!!

Aaron Liddard....

A gifted saxophonist and band leader, Liddard's music harnesses jazz, funk, broken beats, quirkiness and heaps of soul creating a perfect harmony to accompany any funky, groovy DJ set, with surprise forays with flute and windsynth to add contrast.

Aaron Liddard performs as a soloist and in horn sections with artists in the UK and USA and further afield. He is lead saxophonist and composer with the London Jazz Collective, and writes for his own ensembles that have embraced jazz, funk, soul, salsa, hip hop, and free improv. Recent successes including blowing lead sax for BEVERLEY KNIGHT and headline-grabbing hedonista AMY WINEHOUSE have lead to TV appearances on LATER WITH JOOLS HOLLAND, BBC IN CONCERT, and the SHARON OSBORNE SHOW among many others - indeed for several weeks it was hard not to see Aaron if you were a UK TV watcher as he appeared every 20 mins on the adverts for Amy's lauded debut album - playing sax draped across Amy's bed of all places!

Aaron has a diverse involvment in music and has appeared with NORMAN JAY, HED KANDI, DAEVID ALLEN, INNER SENSE, THE MO' HORNS, THE GMWA, LjC, MARK IRATION, CHARLIE RINKS and JIMPSTER, and there is a regular demand from artists in New York, London, Moscow, San Francisco and Copenhagen for this mans amazing talents and aaron has even been invited to perform as far away as Kazahkstan.

And that's just for starters, as we have the whole Sexy Chooclate team of DJ's aswell.

As if that wasn't enough, we're pleased to anounce the opening of a second room for our events which will feature the Sexy Chocolate DJ's playing a more laid back mix of Jazz, Funk & Soul with maybe a few other 'groovy' bits thrown in for good measure!
