Beside Llyn Gwynant lake and the Afon Glaslyn river, the Llyn Gwynant campsite offers a unique experience in the very heart of Snowdonia. The campsite is situated beneath Snowdon in Nant Gwynant - one of Wales most lovely valleys. Here you can enjoy natural beauty and quiet, and relax by your own camp fire. Respect for the land and for others is essential, and recycling is encouraged. The campsite has a single large toilet block, with showers and hot water provided. It is possible to walk up Snowdon directly from the site either down the road (south on the A498) to the Watkin path from Nantgwynant, or up the road (north on the A498) to Pen-y-Pass for the PYG or Miners tracks. The picturesque village of Beddgelert is a 10 minute drive (5 miles) from the site, Llanberis is 20 minutes and Caernarfon, Portmadog and Betws-y-Coed are 30 minutes. There is great rock climbing accessible from the site within a 20 minute walk, including the famous Lockwoods Chimney - one of the first documented climbs in Snowdonia.
