WAKESTOCK GETS WKD IN NORTH WALES Europe’s largest wakeboarding and music festival is heading back to the shores of North Wales for another weekend of boarding. Wakestock will be ‘bunny hopping’ into the picturesque town of Abersoch from 20th to 22n July and this year WKD will be riding alongside. Wakeboarding is what sets this festival apart, not only can the worlds best riders been seen battling it out on the North Sea but also a whole host of top music acts are set to take centre stage throughout the weekend. Abersoch beach is the setting for the main championship heats, but the boarding won’t be confined to the sea as a specially constructed pool will be positioned in the festival site where boarders will show off their WKD side with the latest tricks and stunt manoeuvres. Back on the festival site headlining acts on Friday include Mark Ronson along with Just Jack, The Shapeshifters, Ferry Corsten and The Scratch Perverts. Saturday is an opportunity to get downright … well, dirty with The Dirty Pretty Things, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, The Enemy and The Bravery. Throughout the weekend the WKD Ride, a pimped up double decker bus, accompanied by the bikini clad WKD girls will be making special appearances on the beach and the festival site. Appreciating that not everyone can grab a board and head to the sea, WKD are brining their own dry land version. If you fancy trying your luck jump on the bucking board and win yourself some WKD goodies! So if the thought of the largest wakeboarding competition this side of the Atlantic, top music artists, bikini clad ladies and camping is making you hot under the collar then get on down to Wakestock 2007.
