My Review of the event....
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY

There is the boat we were ALL partying on yesterday, I wish i could have took more pictures but i forgot to charge my battery.

So onto the review,

It took us 1hour 30mins to travel the 90 ish miles is was from my house and the weather was awful, thick freezing fog so it was very hard driving.

We checked into our Travelodge hotel, and we were greeted by a stupid man who works there (i guess he was the only muppet who wanted to work)

He said to us "what's up?" we are both standing there with a suitcase obviously not checked in with no key to a room duurrrrrrrrr!

I tried finding the boat in my car to see how far it was from the hotel but got lost in the one way system so set the sat nav to return to the hotel, really didn't fancy paying NYE prices on a cab but had to in the end.

So onto the event we went, and the boat was lit up very nicely, but it was soooooo cold i just wanted to get in and didn't get a picture at night of the boat (hence the day time shot the next day from the warmth of my car)

What a venue inside!!!!!

First impressions we both thought it looked like one of those laser quest rooms as there was many gangways/raised platforms all over the place.

I said "where the dj booth" because i could hear brilliant progressive beats coming from speakers mounted all down the sides, we eventually found it right near the bow of the ship, neatly tucked into the narrowing, was two stacks of loud clear speakers, two big air screens that were actually never projected on at any point but still looked cool.

The rig that Godskitchen put in was great!, plenty of lights/laser and really nice decor all round, and to my relief the ship wasn't swaying at all, it was just like being in a building.

Sied Van Riel played some great stuff, lots of his own tracks/remixes, and a very dodgy but obvious deck failure music cut out for at least four seconds, he got some stick but just stood there like "it wasn't me!!!"

Menno De Jong was on second which i felt was too early for him, but upped the tempo instantly playing the intuition sound!

He got to bring in the New Year to which i made a video of link below to YouTube:

As you will see a very clever way of using the same track, quality set, i apologize for my finger getting in the way of the mic on the camera, i think it sounds like filtering now and again

On next Jon O'Bir playing his usual sounds, i guess he wants to be known for a certain sound like Activa, Greg Downy are to Discover.

When he played Majefa's birthday back in October his NYE set here was almost an identical set which given the occasion was very unimaginative, but was a good set though, i don't thick anybody else in there would have been at Majefa to realize it.

Onto Gareth Emery, never seen this guy before and will be seeing him again soon for his podcast party in Manchester!

He opened his set with a great unknown remix of Delerium - Silence (tech house sounding remix???)

The crowd lapped this guy up!, he played some of his own stuff naturally which was a breath of fresh air as O'Bir's set ended.

And unfortunately that was the end of our night as the missus was ill, fair play to her though she lasted 6 hours in high heels!

We were extremely thankful to Divine Inspiration for giving us a lift back to the hotel, that saved us an hour wait and £££ too!

So if anybody else can finish the review on from where mine stopped I'd really like to hear what went on!

It was really busy on the night, people were still paying to get in at 3:00am, and I'm told there will be more events at the ship in the coming months, BIG PARTIES! but i will say no more.......

Then comes the day after, i wanted to get a picture of the ship so drove to it, now knowing where it was, and it was soooo quiet, a ghost town and hard to believe it was so busy just hours before, I'm sure the pubs/hotels/taxi lots were grateful of the extra ££££ we all brought to the town on the night.

Best way I've ever brought a New Year in by far!
