Subtle soundtracks, comfy canvas chairs, dark wooden floors and a menu that covers all eventualities, any time of the day: San Francisco-style bohemia in the heritage city. Serves meals throughout the day and lighter bites from 5-9pm, and the Adventure continues during the evening - the cafe's licensed, so you can take your nightlife in any direction here, either making the most of the continental beers and cool cocktails on offer or giving proceedings an American sitcom slant by drinking espresso and eating chunky pastries until bedtime. Jazz, funk, soul and lounge music make for a relaxed vibe while, on the food frontier, chic but robust breakfasts, sandwiches, smoothies, salads, snacks, homemade cakes and fantastic shakes are all favourites. Open Sun-Tue 10am-5pm, Wed-Sun 10am-12pm. *soon to have the garden refurbished with an outside bar, increasing capacity to another 150
