TBH.. the DSI system is far to slow for uploding that many images at large size... And I do have other work to be getting on with! Which is why I am discussing it atm!

Actually no, it's not.
Upload speed is only limited by your Internet connection.

plus, if you run your photos through a batch process to reduce the JPEG quality to 95%, the file-size is more than halved!

Just stick it on to upload and leave it for a few hours while you sleep/eat/watch tv/go shopping/work/mow the grass/fix the front door/feed the cats/order a pizza/race snails/go for a pint/get arrested/beat up chavs/bleach your ass/terrorize the elderly/burn your junkmail etc. etc.!

Ive been looking at this. The problem lies at their link to webservers.

Trist is right mate. Its not hes connection.

The site does seems to need more bandwidth. Both ways. When everyone is logged in at once even veiwing the pages is very flaky sometimes.

JFYI 8 meg DSL usually gives you about 1 meg out. DSI is taking the stuff in at about 64k. Thats pretty crap.

I think DSI under-estmated the bandwith requirement of all the nutty ravers sending in their stuff.

Photos taken at hi-res are huge. You balance them and get them sooooo much smaller.

Ive also seen photos like on DSI 2000x2000+. (bear in mind most monitors are only 1024x768). These are like pro-printing sizes. We could save loads og bandwith all ways to middle.

Personally i blame trist and hes camera that probaly came off of a US military recon sattalite. ;)

I have never had a problem, I can upload 100 fullsize pics in less than 10 minutes... oh yeah maybe my 10mb upload speed has something to do with that! its not DSI its you!

The pipe into DSI is essentially unlimited. The only real limiting factor is the rate at which the server can store the file.
