Everyone is ur family - u leave ur ego at the gate
Turned up there about 6pm, because we wanted to get straight to the front of the que and decided to start looking for suitable parking. After deciding that we did not want to pay £7 to park in their car park we drove right out of the complex, and parked in the lorry turning circle in an industrial estate after speaking to the security guard. Start walking back to the complex, we are all pretty wasted at this point - I managed to finish off practically a crate myself... We got to the complex, and stood around for a bit deciding what to do, we watched some kids get ID'd so we decided to just go over and speak to the security for a bit, after having a few cans with them they didn't ID any of us and just let us through. My mate went "Yeah if you just speak to them for a while and act cool they won't ID you!", not sure if this statement is true but still.

Then because we only had standard tickets, we had to cris cross left and right for what seemed 100 years, to the left was the VIP entrance there were no mental gates on that side stopping you from walking straight there. Spent around 30 minutes in the que chatted to some pretty cool people, then all walked in, after giving E-ticket numbers and being 'briefly' searched. I cartwheeled into Westfest. Not sure why I think I was just paralytic. Then we all stood around again and chilled, we decided to head off to the drum and bass arena, but had to wait there for some reason because they did not allow for the arena to be opened? Waited about 15 minutes to get into the arena then was raving for a bit, then some of the gang went off to the bar and everyone lost each other. My phone battery died... So I couldnt find anybody, ended up on my own for about 3 hours but bumped into some pretty cool people and went back in the drum and bass arena.

I just want to say now, 4 tokens(£) for a fucking can of strongbow? Are they taking the piss. I had money with me around £60 but I was just not willing to pay that much for a single can. What a violation. After finding out how much it was for a can, I went back in the drum and bass arena, ended up loosing my new friends but wasnt that bothered. Decided to go check out the main arena as I spotted it from going to the bar and walking back to the dnb arena. Not sure what set was playing but it was all too much for me, to many guys in hi-viz jackets sucking dummies I don't go for that and after about 5 minutes I walked out... I missed Eksman and Friction because I was not willing to stay in there and I didn't have the set times, so I walked back into the DnB arena... Ended up bumping into the boys again and one of them told me he had been chased by a clown, it was probably about 1am now. So we walk out to get some air, and I suddenly go... Where the fuck is Ben? We call him and he answers, "Ben where the fuck are ya?" "I went back to the car, I don't wanna talk about it!" "Erm what? Take it easy then".

He took some dodgey pills apparently and span out on them. But at the start of the night he turns round to me and goes "Chris, I have a present for you.." and gives me a pill. I took it and I was fine, plus about 7 others and I was fine. After calling Ben we decide to sit down and chill with a spliff, I was looking through my camera and put it down on the floor. I left it on the floor. The people who I was speaking to probably nicked it, because when I came back and realised it was gone they had left with the camera.

To be honest, if I was speaking to somebody for about 15 minutes chilling with them and they walk off and I realise they have left their camera or phone on the floor where they are sitting. I would wait there until they returned. That was the second violation of the night.

So we walk back to the drum and bass arena and harry shotta is on stage with funsta, lazers are coming from every direction it was mental. Then its 6am and we leave, I stashed about 4 cans in the bush on my left just before we qued and drank them on the way back... Smoked a couple of spliffs at the industrial estate and Ben drove me home because he had already had around 6 hours of dodgey sleep.

Anyway, it was a real big big rave really enjoyed myself... The only downer was that I lost a £100 camera. I will return next year WITH a vip ticket for sure.

To be fair, the drinks have always been heavily overpriced at Westfest so i know what to expect - but yeah it is a bit of a scandal! And £7 for parking, what the fuck?! It's a field!!!

Bit gutting about your camera, but unfortunately you always get a few twats - trouble is it only takes a few wankers to ruin someone's night, even though the majority are there for a good time rather than being fucking pikeys like the minority!

I went VIP last year and the queue was a fucking nightmare still; went normal this year and literally strolled straight in.
