As Ratty once said to Mole: 'there's nothing quite like messing about with boats'. Which has absolutely nothing to do with this lovely little pub, but I quite like the sentiment. And anyway, The Boater is actually named after the jaunty straw hat and isn't a real reference to the fact it's plum next to the river. A gorgeous beer garden will keep you entertained in the summer, while the pool table, TV sport (be there for when Bath's rugby team are playing at home - it's rammed), the cellar bar and the top food will do it for you all year round. Great stuff.
