hey folks, just got back from wot started as a poop nite cuz the bouncers ID'd the missus n we had to back an get it which took over an hour, but hey ho shit happens. anyways, bit of a shocker when we walked in, the place was nearly empty! cold as usual i think the guy on the smoke machine had a bit of a heavy finger cuz the place got chugged out with thick smoke n you couldnt see in inch in front of your face, and cuz there wernt any bodys bumpin into ya it felt like ya was dancin alone in front of some flashy lights. way too much smokey joes for me! an thats comin from a major pot head! ha ha! the chunes were strange too, they couldnt make up thier mind wot they wanted to be? they had bits of electro, DnB, trance, old school, hard house an allsorts in there, i thought polys was sposed to be a hard house night n all i wanted was for some good old honest to goodness bangin hard house, but all i got was a mix of confused and cluttered sounds that dint do my head much good at all! karim played a pretty good set n we left after that n went to bounce at subway, god i hate that dive! hahahaha! hope you enjoyed my opinion, sleep well folks! take care!

I had a great night! The smoke was too much at times though, a lot of people felt the same. The variety of music in the main room worked well IMO, if you wanted banging hard house all night, shoulda been in the Insekt room!

Upstairs was MUCH better! Crowd was up there, plus the volume isn't on overload upstairs, you can actaully hear the tunes, and it was warm. Top marks to the upstairs DJ's.

Don't know what was going on with the ground floor, but I wasn't liking it on several levels, (including the cold); though come 3pm, Rodi Style looked & sounded a technical master on the decks, it's just a shame he had to come and play to a half empty dance floor. The vibe wasn't there for me downstairs. I went home at 3.45.

Saying that, this was my first pure hard house event, so maybe im not qualified to comment in full. Downstairs just not my thing at that volume.

There were a few similar dance nights on in Brum this night, maybe bit too much competition, and that's why there was a poor turn out? Plus Armin's on next week, people maybe waiting for that night.

well i liked it... but then i travelled up esp for the filth/insekt room which was busy all night.. and as for the main room.. not really the music what i like til 3 ish and karim was absolutely awesome... as usual......... defo not as busy in the main room as all the other polys I been to but most ppl i knew were at b2t,,,, and sadly not a big percentage of ppl appreciate filth/hard nrg.. most preferring to hear the same old tired classics churned out!

Polys is always smoky but yeah WTF with it last night.. not impressed proper fcking annoying taking pictures when you feel like an extra in the film The Fog grrrrrr!!!

yeah have to agree - apart from Andy + Matt's opener in the main room, the Insekt room did it for me. Missed Karim cos had to leave early (such is life) but had a good night - hopefully see you all again soon

didn't spend long diownstairs but i did hear didn't sound great - bass was a bit muffled, and it was bloody freezing down there!!

Insekt room was much better, sound was quality and all the sets i heard (all of them!) were spot on!

Anyone know why it emptied out at about 4.30? was only about 8 of us left!!

See, this is what happens when you have expectations of a night lol, you always end up disappointed. Go out with a blank mind (very easy in my case) and everything is lots of fun haha.
