Hed Kandi vs Fuel. What can we say about this top night in Birmingham. Well lets start at 10.00pm. As i was fourtunate enough to be doing the warm up set i got a full chance to see the club buld along with my buddies. As soon as the doors opened, people were coming in, we had even seen people coming up to the entrance at around 9:45. The mood for the night was set and people were just bopping away with their drinks in their hands. By 10:30 a resonable sized crowd had begun to build. A few people had ventured onto the dance floor and the vibe begins to build.

Savvas Fellas came onto the decks at 11 and lifted the tempo and groove. I have seen this guy since he first started with Hed Kandi and boy, this guys style and technique has grown. Dropping accapellas over classic dubs. Hitting the crowd when they needed it. It was all good, even with the worlds moodiest sound and lighting engineer sat next to us.
All to soon Savs set was over, with deck duty expertly taken over by the one, the only Mr John Jones (Hed Kandi Legend, yes John you are).

John has become a well loved Bambu resident. He has been coming to Bambu from the bery begining, and as with Sav, his style and technique has growen everytime i have watched him play. This night he played a top mix of chunkier, phater beats. Along with a couple of all time classics, that had me and John at least remembering the early 90's. Bigggest moment of his set for the crowd on the night was him dropping the accapella of Gadjo - So Many Times. That tune will never get old. It then comes to the last hour. how time flys when your having fun.

So, the last hour. Back 2 Back time for John and Sav. This is always fun. John then turn around to me and asks if i want to join in the Back 2 Back session. Now to say this put a smile on my face was an understatment. So here we go, lets as someone i know might say "put some blood on the walls". The crowd were looking a little tired after all of the fun and games they had just had. But they managed to find that little extra for the last hour. Plenty of loud anthemic tracks followed that kept the crowd there till closing. Once again another month where the club was still heaving when the lights came up.

The whole night was tops for me, I only ventured in to the Fuel room once, which i have alot of respect for, as i used to be a Fuel regular until about 7 months ago. The fuel room was a little to Electro for me, but it still had a good following. One thing i still don't under stand. Hed Kandi in the small room RAMMED, Fuel in the big room HALF EMPTY. Then again i dont make those choices.

So all i can say is here is to NYE when we can do it all over again. Savvas Fellas and Miss Kelly Marie in the Bambu house.

Was a good night, very entertaining, especially the amount of vodka me and Kat put away the last hour, hehe. Nice to meet some of you from here too, sick dancer is a sweetie.

met some wight dudes and got completely off my trolley. fantastic!

i really need to be more sober next time......lol it helps if u remeber the night out! esp after waiting for it for so long! But i guess its not so hard to stay sober when its ur birthday and ur mates are there! lmao.....from what i remeber it was a great night out tho!
