So Wrong It's Right - Deuce 4th Birthday
There's been much talk of late regards Cocoon in Birmingham. Most clued up Brummies have heard of it. Many don't know where it is. A few had been and have expressed various doubts about the venue. "Not enough places to sit" said some. "Sound system not good enough" said others. "The venue looks half finished" other people mused.

Sat 18th of November Cocoon received the Full Deuce treatment. In the past this would have included the Deuce sound system. We know sound systems and we did a full check of the in house system before we even considered putting on a night here and let me tell you - There is nothing wrong with it. In fact it's crisp, clear and most importantly LOUD!!

As well as adding the expected Deuce lighting FXs and decor we also brought in our favourite VJ, the one and only Beatroot. A huge thanks to Beatroot not only for an excellent set but also for the lift home!

The other big gripe about Cocoon as mentioned was the seating or lack of it. Despite being of the opinion that you should be in a club to dance not sit on your arse Deuce listened and Deuce provided. Extra seating for at least 25 people gave all you lazy bastards out there somewhere to park your jacksy.

None of these lot wanted to sit down. They were too busy throwing some shapes.

On to the reason why we all go out in the first place (No not drugs - Music!) As the flyer said: Not here for the Music? Then Fuck Off! A philosophy that was clearly heeded as EVERY person in attendance lapped up the underground house tunage provided firstly by long time Deuce residents Joe Hughes & Lou Natique followed by another Deuce Favourite (and flyer designer) Dave Bateman.

By the time Mogs took over the reigns the excitement for the main event was building and Mogs lapped up the crowds enthusiasm and treated us to an awesome set of twisted minimal and maximal house which had many of us longing for those long hot Mondays back on the terrace of DC10.

The crowds gather to catch a glimpse of "The High Priest Of Wrong"

Finally 2a.m arrived and the one and only Tim Sheridan was in the building. Glass of white wine in hand Tim launched into 4 hours of non stop wrongness. His tunes were Nasty, Dirty & Sexy and kept the hardcore dancing right through to the end. Big tune of the night had to be Depeche Mode's 'Sinner in Me' (Villalobos remix) with my personal favourite being Audio Bullys 'Way Too Long' (Switch Remix).

Thanks not only to Tim Sheridan, all the other DJs & VJ Beatroot but most importantly to everyone who came and made the Deuce 4th Birthday one to remember.

You do realise that this is not a PM don't you?!? Nice. Was it an growing hair? I get them sometimes on my neck and I recently had one on my toe. Never onmy arse though - yet! It's quite satisfying when you get one and you pull it out. I can't imagine yours was too satisfying though!!

Adam, that was a real party. Wish I could have been on the proper side of it.

I havent been able to get Tim out of my head all week. Im even doing my missus head in about him.

He's been a wee bit of an inspiration, and I hope this will reflect some time soon.

Last person to have this effect on me was the man like Carl Cox in 1992.

Im moved!
I have 2 words..

I told you he was good. My favourite DJ in the world right now. Will definitely be looking to get him in again early 2007.
